Yet another Halloween collage you say? Well yeah, I had a lot of Halloween pics just sitting on my computer, all those memories, stuck, just waiting to come out!
So here is another!
I used the new Silhouette software to make the title! It is a lot easier to use, but I have a lot to learn. One of the things I found out was the dotted line! I did that around my title using the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder & the glitter mini gel pen in orange. I then used Copics, yes you can use Copics with the mini gel pens with no smearing, to color in the witch's boots! The journaling circle was also done with the mini gel pen holder and the Silhouette.
So who is trying next???

More collage Halloween layouts! They go together so quick and easy! For this one I designed the border in Design Studio with Happy Hauntings and then embossed it with the Chomas Creations embossing kit on Ten Second Studio metal sheets. The title was also embossed and I used the mini gel pen to make the journaling circle, the tutorial for that is here... journaling circle tutorial

WOW! Can I just say WOW on how amazing the Silhouette is with the small type? And way quicker to! I wrote out the house that Jack built story with the Chomas Creation's mini gel pen for the Silhouette and the new mini gel pens, as well as the title and the book. Drawing with the Silhouette works best at around a pressure of 10 and a speed in the middle.

These photos of my little ones reading together are priceless, and they needed a special page! There seem to be too few moments like this.
The book is a sketch from the Silhouette store, as well as the little houses, the hill, and the picket fence. The paper is Echo Park.

Halloween is coming, one of my fav times of year!! But I have a problem with Halloween, and that is the amount of pictures I take! And I have such a hard time deciding which ones to use! So I decided to put together a few photo collages to make these pages easier to scrap! Here is my first one from Ella's young 5's class!
Speaking of collage, I put together another collage in Design Studio with Happy Haunting and embossed it with the embossing kit on Ten Second Studios metal! I think it turned out pretty darned cool! I'm still amazed with the fine details I can get. Again to get this look, put your metal sheet color side down, and make sure you flip your images in Design Studio. Here is a screen shot of what my file looked like...

And here it is all embossed & sanded...

Here is the rest of the page with my photo collage! The paper and embellies are Making Memories.

Being it was Jack's first year of school, I couldn't resist school photos (even though I rarely buy them, I like to do my own), and I'm glad I didn't. This fits the cheesiest school photo ever category, and cracks me up each time I see it!
I already used this file for the title for Ella's preschool page, so it was an easy page to put together, just changed the dates! I also made a couple of embellies for the page out of the Ten Second Studios metal.

The journaling circle was done with the mini gel pen holder, my fav way to do journaling!

Being it is a boy school page, I used the Zutter Distrezz tool to rough up the edges of my paper. It is a lot quicker, that is for sure! The papers on this are Imaginesce.

You color my world with Chomas Creations embossing kit

Save those little scraps of metal! Look at the cute little circle embellies I made for this page using the Chomas Creations embossing kit and the Cricut on Ten Second Studios metal! Yes, sometimes I go overboard on circles! I used the paper stump to push out some of the areas of the circle for even more texture then sanded the debossed side of the metal.

I would also like to share a new forum I've signed up for where I can share what I've been up to!!! SmartBuyGal forum She also has an online store and is now carrying my produts there as well!!! So if you want to talk scrapping, this is a great place to go!

Enjoy the ride with Chomas Creations embossing/scoring kit

Wow! I just realized this is my 500th post on this blog! It took me almost 4 1/2 years as I started it right after my last baby was born so it would be easier to journal on pages. Now scrapbooking has taken over this blog! So on with my 500th post!
Enjoy the ride? eeeeek! I don't know how parents do this, my daugther just got her license, and I'm terrified to let her drive me around! My poor hubby has been doing all the teaching. Maybe one day I'll sit in the passenger seat with Tay driving... maybe...
She was overjoyed to get her license, as you maybe able to tell by the smile on her face hehe! I couldn't resist doing a page on it, funny thing is when I first got Graphically Speaking I saw the car and driving designs, and figured I would be using them down the road, and today I finally got to.
I put the metal sheet colored side down, and made sure to flip my designs in Design Studio. Then I used the Chomas Creations embossing kit to emboss the design onto Ten Second Studios metal sheets. I used a paper stump to emboss the area between the lines, so that when I sanded it, more of the surface showed the silver color.

Lately I've been using the Copics to go along the edges of my cardstock, it gives it a nice finished look, kinda like using a stamp pad, and it absorbs into it nicely. Here is the finished page, the star cardstock and the journaling is all outlined with the Copics.

Busy Boy Layout with Chomas Creations mini gel pen & Copics

Ok, I maybe, just maybe, getting addicted to the Copic markers... I used to love to color, and now I'm remembering why hehe! Now if I could just stay between the lines...
I love love love the Mini Monsters cart! While my now 4 year old is starting to be less of a monster every day, looking back at these old blog posts I used to do reminds me of a trying time I went through with him! Like at his 18 month check up when the pediatrician is asking me if ADD runs in the family because my baby is running around like, well a monster!
If you layer your pieces in Design Studio from the Mini Monsters cart, and draw it out with the mini gel pen holder, it makes for the perfect image to color in with the Copics! And no smearing with the mini gel pens either when you are coloring.
You may recognize the background, the graph paper on kraft cardstock, I liked the look I got so much I'm using it again already! That is the black metallic mini gel pen! I used chalk to dirty up the edges, cause no monster page should be a clean page, hehe!
The title was done using the Robotz cart, and again drawn with the mini gel pen holder, and colored with the Copics.
Look closely and you will see polka dots and lines in the title. I used the Copic blender marker to add texture to the title.

Happy Birthday Card with Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder & Copics

Coloring with Copics... I wish I could say I'm getting better, but I should probably practice more hehe! If only there were more time in the day!
So did you know you could draw with the Chomas Creations mini gel pens and mini gel pen holder in your Cricut and then color with the Copics, and it won't smear? So I thought it would be fun to color a pink poodle! I think I mixed up my colors while coloring cause poor pinki's face is really pink! But I think it turned out cute! I love me some googly eyes, so much cuter then just cut or drawn eyes. The good thing about using Design Studio when drawing with the gel pens is you can layer everything to add the extra details.
The background of this card was designed in Design Studio with Doodletype. I added all of the "happy" words to one layer of my DS file, then on another layer drew the "birthday" word, that way I could use 2 different colors of the new GLITTER mini gel pens! See all that sparkle? You can click on the pics to see them larger!

Splish Splash with the Silhouettte

Not only can you use the mini gel pens with the mini gel pen holders for the Silhouette to draw the different sketches, but you can draw anything you would normally cut! For this page I wanted a patterned title, so I drew the little circles with the new glitter mini gel pens, then cut the title into the background I had just drawn. Because the title wasn't popping enough of my page, I just took a white gel pen and did the stitching by hand.
To make the journaling circle, in the Silhouette software I made lines across my paper from the top to bottom of the page, then drew those, and cut out some circles for using for journaling. I did a bunch so I have some extras on hand!

Denise over at Paper Pastime made this amazing box and card with the new glitter mini gel pens! She got some great pics that really show just how much glitter is in the glitter pens! So if you are looking for some sparkle and bling, you've come to the right place! Denise got the box template from mytimemadeeasy.com. Looks great Denise!

I haven't yet tried anything by Chomas...I am a new scrapbooker and just bought a Circut Expression. I am looking forward to using the gel pens!!!

Kara! I just need your email address to send on to the gals at Memory Miser for your prize! Congrats!

And for today's be creative every day layout... LOVE THIS ONE! I think it is mostly cause of the pics of my kids, messy and happy!!! I missed this day and my mother in law sent the pics for me! Look how much fun!
The background paper is a graph I designed in Design Studio with George and I used the metallic black mini gel pen from Chomas Creations to draw with! Again love the look, kinda like pencil! I also used brown chalk to dirty up the edges of that and my circles! The title was also designed in Design Studio with Lyrical Letters, and drawn with the black mini gel pen. The journaling was done again with the mini gel pen holder for the lines as well.
The paper and beavers are Basic Grey's Green at Heart line.
Looks like fun, eh?? hehe Who wants to jump in next?

Families are forever with Chomas Creations embossing/scoring kit

For my next trick...
I wanted to see how it would look coloring embossed vellum with the Copic markers, so I gave it a shot! To get the look of the embossed title, you do need to flip it in Design Studio, or it will be facing the wrong way, because it looks better if you color the back side of the vellum. It seems with vellum you need to use a multi-cut of 2 with the Chomas Creations embossing kit for a more raised look. The embossed vellum shows up a lot better with a dark cardstock behind it, so I like to layer the vellum on top of any darker cardstock. Brads seem to be the best way to attach the vellum for me!

If there is one thing I don't have a lot of, it is family pictures, maybe because there are 6 of us! It is a very overwhelming task! This is a photo with my camera on a tripod, and with me and a remote control in hand, clicking it again and again and again! And out of about 30 shots, this was the best, even though one of my boys wasn't looking! Moral of the story? Get some photos with YOU in them, with your whole family in them! Kids grow too quick! So here is the finished layout!
