Too cute to spook with Chomas Creations engraving tip

I love the too cute to spook title for those kids that dress up for Halloween in their cute outfits!  That way you can still use the Halloween colors and get away with it!

I used the Chomas Creations engraving tip for the Cricut with the Core'dinations cardstock to etch the title into this page.  After you etch the design, lightly sand it to really make it show!
You can download the Design Studio file with Happy Hauntings for this page here...  too cute to spook

I used the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder for the journaling lines.

The papers are Echo Park and all the extra goodies are Making Memories.  I did make my daugther's shirt with a rhinestone template from Silhouette Studio, and heat set rhinestones!  Isn't it cute?

Boy frames with Chomas Creations embossing kit

Did you know you can use the Chomas Creations embossing kit for simple embellishments??  I made all of these arrows with the Chomas Creations embossing kit and Ten Second Studios metal sheets.  You can download the file to make the arrows with Boys Will Be Boys and DS here... arrows

By putting the metal sheets colored side down and embossing them with the Chomas Creations embossing kit, then cutting them out with any old pair of scissors, you can then sand the raised image to make it POP!
The papers  and stickers on these are all Echo Park.  I had a lot of fun with these frames, adding buttons and ribbon!
The sentiment on the inside of the frame was done with the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder.

While I didn't use any of the Chomas Creations goodies on this frame, I really liked how it turned out and figured I would share this one as well!

You are out of this world layout

Ok, so sometimes I like how a card turns out so much I try using the inspiration for a layout!  It is hard to come up with loads of ideas all the time, so why not???

I used the DS file here... out of this world file to make a card (see post below), and then changed the file up a bit to make a 12x12 layout with it!  The card file and the layout file are both in that same download.
I used the adjustable marker holder to draw the title on Colorbok metallic sheets (I got 2 of them sized 12x12 at Target in the scrapbook aisle).

Of course the journaling circle was done with the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holders.   You can see a tutorial on how to do that and get the file for it here....  journaling circles

All of the papers and chipboard stickers are October Afternoon, as is the super busy boy on the page hehe!

Out of this World card with Chomas Creations micro Sharpie holder

A fun birthday card for my nephew's birthday!  You can download the file for this using DS with George and Doodletype here... out of this world card

I used the adjustable marker holder for the title with Doodletype.  I found this Colorbok metallic paper at Target for $1 for 2- 12x12 sheets!  Pretty snazzy!
The papers and chipboard stickers are all October Afternoon.

Little brother layout with Chomas Creations embossing kit

One of the happiest days of my 13 year old's life was when he grew taller then his 17 year old big sister!  It happened last summer, but this picture is funny as you can see the 6 inches he has on her even better!
I've been scrappin over 13 years now!  I have a lot of scrap crap (as I refer to it) and sometimes I go on a "use up my stash" kick, so that is just what I did!  I went through my stash and found all these Making Memories brads that I added to the page!  I forgot I had them!  If you want to jump in on some of these use up your scrap crap challenges, feel free!!
One of my favorite files I made for Design Studio with George was the graph paper, I use it time and again.  You can get that download here... graph paper download
I used the Chomas Creations embossing kit with Ten Second Studios metal sheets for this page.  After I embossed the page, I used a black StayzOn to rub ink over the top of the raised images.
Once again for some quick journaling I grabbed some of the journaling circles I made with the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder.  You can see the tutorial for that here... journaling circles
I used Plantin for the title which was welded in Design Studio.
Here is the completed layout with my daughter and her "little" brother hehe!  The gears are Tim Holtz, the brads are Making Memories, and the paper is Basic Grey.

Princess frame with Chomas Creations embossing kit

Don't forget there is a sale going on in the Chomas Creation's store!  Enter the code back10 at checkout for 10% off your total order!

Another one of my frames for the craft show (if I can let this one go hehe!).
I loved how the castle turned out on this card I made here... princess card  You can also get the download for it on that link.  Being I put all that work into the file, I figured why not use it again??  So I did!  I embossed it with the Chomas Creations embossing kit on a metal sheet.  Being it was an odd shape and I didn't want it to bend, I added it to a circle that was cut out of chipboard, and that I had added a piece of patterned paper on.
I got the "princess" wood word from Michaels, it was already painted pink.  I added some crystal lacquer to the top of the word, then sprinkled glitter on it.  The glitter absorbed into the crystal lacquer and now I don't have to worry about it sprinkling off!
The papers and ribbon are all Imaginesce.

Pupppy love with Chomas Creations engraving tip

There is a lot of puppy love in our house, some of which the puppy doesn't seem to appreciate hehe!  Don't worry, the puppy isn't in any danger!
I used the Chomas Creations engraving tip on Core'dinations cardstock to etch the bone pattern for background paper (lucky for me as I have no doggy paper!)  If you would like the Design Studio file which uses A Child's Year and Doodletype for the background paper and title, you can download it here... Puppy Love file
Here is the close up of the bones...
I used the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder to do the journaling box...
Here is the title and I used A Child's Year for the boy and puppy silhouette, I inked the edges of it.
And here is the completed page!

Watch me grow with Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder

Here is another layout I got done with the mini gel pen holder, and I've been asked how I get the journaling circle, so here goes!
This page was done with Jubilee for the title, and Basic Grey's Olivia line papers and embellies.

I used the rectangle from George to draw the lines in Design Studio on one page, which ends up looking like this...

On another layer in Design Studio I added a bunch of circles to the page, you could also add squares, shapes, brackets, ovals (you get the picture). Mix up the colors, and the colors of paper for more variety. I cut these out...

I do this every once in awhile, so I have a bunch of hand, and just grab for one when I need it.  You can get the Design Studio file for these here... journaling circles

Scoring a card with the Chomas Creations embossing tip

I was so excited to be asked to be the first guest designer for Kristal!!!  She is one amazing woman!  If you just came from her blog... Getting Cricky
This hop is all about supporting our fallen heroes.   Rebecca from Crafting Misfit is doing a walk where she will hand deliver cards made to show support.  What an amazing cause!  You can find out more on her blog about it!
The cards that I made have already been delivered to a friend of mine who was putting together care packages for our soldiers.  Thank you Leslie!  But I'm going to make more to send out for a good cause!
Well now, for those of you that know me, you know how I like things that make my life easier, and for those getting to know me, now you know!  hehe!  So if I can cut and fold a card in just minutes, and have a bunch ready to go and grab when I need them, I'm all for it!  You will be amazed at how easy this is to do!  You can download the file for Design Studio to make these 2 cards here... 4x6 card share
I also have a video you can watch on scoring with the Chomas Creations embossing tip

Now to recap, this is using just the Cricut mat and a piece of cardstock, and the Chomas Creations embossing tip to score the card.
I added a big rectangle in Design Studio on the emboss layer, with some of the edges off of the paper (you don't need this part of the rectangle) to emboss with the Chomas Creations embossing tip.
Using a multi-cut of 2, emboss or score the paper with the Cricut.
Without removing the mat from the machine, remove the Chomas Creations embossing tip and add the blade.  Swith over to the blade.  Click the cut layer tab in Design Studio and cut out the card rectangles.
Now you can remove the mat from the machine, and take your cards off your mat, fold them in half and use a bone folder to smooth the edge.  SUPER EASY!  I did all 6 of these cards in less them 10 minutes and chatted to Kristal on facebook while doing it hehe!  How is that for multi-tasking?
I was so excited that Kristal sent me her Freedom Isn't Free stamps to try, you can find them here... Freedom Isn't Free
Let me tell you how handy these stamps came in!  I had a friend whose husband is stationed over in Italy that is putting together care packages for our soldiers!  I made her 10 cards to use, and these stamps worked great for that project!
Not only did I use the Chomas Creations embossing tip to score the cards, but I also used it for the stars embossed on the Ten Seconds Studio metal sheet.  I added the metal sheet colored side down on the embossing mat, embossed the design, then sanded the raised image to make the stars POP!  The paper I used on these is from Quick Quotes.  I stamped a different sentiment on each card with the Freedom Isn't Free stamps!

Now for a give away!!  Kristal is giving away a set of her stamps to one lucky winner!  Leave a comment here for a chance at this awesome prize!  Great stamps Kristal!  And did you know that $1 from each of her stamps sets sold goes to a different charity?
Of course you don't have to become a follower, but if you have not yet, why  not?  hehe!  One comment per person, I will pick a winner with random.org Monday morning!

Have you tried out Cricut Search?

I just have to share this!  I was in the Disney/Pixar blog hop and one of the blogs on the hop is Cricut Search and to be honest, I hadn't tried it yet.  But today I wanted a bike for this page I am doing, and I had no clue which cartridge had one, so I gave it a shot!
First I typed bike into the search box...

Then a list of all the cartridges for the Cricut that have a bike on them show up, and you can pick the cartridge you have, with the design you like!
Look at that!  Not only do you know which cartridge, but it shows the page as well!  How easy is that?

I thought it would be cool to emboss the bike design for this page.  So I got out the Ten Seconds Studios appletini metal sheets and put one face down on my Chomas Creations embossing mat, then embossed the design with the embossing tip.  The metal is easy to cut around, so I did that with my scissors then adhered them to my page.

My journaling oval was one I did in Make-the-Cut. I had promised to share it awhile ago and completely forgot, so for those waiting for it, here it is!

The title was cut with the Boys Will Be Boys cartridge which I welded together with Design Studio.

Here is the completed page along with my fast girl!

Also did you see the announcement about the Chomas Creations mini gel pen and mini Sharpie holders coming down in price?  If not, scroll down to find out more!
