Christmas frames with Chomas Creations engraving tip

Hey believe it or not, here are even more frames hehe!  I don't usually like to do anything Christmas before Halloween, but I made an exception this year hehe!
I used the Chomas Creations engraving tip on Shimmer Sheetz for all the sentiments.  The sheets go right on a regular Cricut mat, so you can use a blade to cut around this material when you are done engraving them.  Loving me some tinsel!!
This frame used the Lyrical Letters cartridge.  The papers are October Afternoon.  The tinsel is Melissa Frances.
The cartidge on this one is also Lyrical Letters.  The papers are all Imaginesce.  The ribbon is Making Memories.

I used the Winter Woodland cart on this one.  The papers are October Afternoon.

Halloween frames with Chomas Creations embossing kit & engraving tip

I like to show the difference between the Chomas Creations embossing kit & the Chomas Crations engraving tip from time to time using the same image, so you can get a better idea of what they each do!  With the Chomas Creations embossing kit you get a raised image on things such as metal or vellum.  Here I used it on a metal sheet to make the spooky title and the embossed cirlce image.  I sanded the raised image to give it this look.
I used the Chomas Creations engraving tips with Core'dinations cardstock on these frames to do the spooky title and circles.

I decided to try something a bit different this time and added some Mod Podge to the engraved cardstock to see what would happen, and I really like how it glossied it up just a bit.

Notice the difference?  One is more for embossing (leaving a raised surface with the Chomas Creations embossing kit), and the other for engraving, or etching (scratching into the material with the Chomas Creations engraving tip).
If you have ever looked at the tips together, they do have different tips to them.  The Chomas Creations embossing tip is an aluminum tip, which the Chomas Creations engraving tip has a tip made of carbide.
Here are all 4 of the finished Halloween frames I did!  The papers and goodies are all Making Memories.

You can get both the Chomas Creations embossing kit or engraving tip on sale this week in the Chomas Creations store when you use the coupon code pink10 at checkout for 10% off your entire order!

Too cute to spook with Chomas Creations engraving tip

I love the too cute to spook title for those kids that dress up for Halloween in their cute outfits!  That way you can still use the Halloween colors and get away with it!

I used the Chomas Creations engraving tip for the Cricut with the Core'dinations cardstock to etch the title into this page.  After you etch the design, lightly sand it to really make it show!
You can download the Design Studio file with Happy Hauntings for this page here...  too cute to spook

I used the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder for the journaling lines.

The papers are Echo Park and all the extra goodies are Making Memories.  I did make my daugther's shirt with a rhinestone template from Silhouette Studio, and heat set rhinestones!  Isn't it cute?

Halloween frame with Chomas Creations engraving tip

First, I want to say stop by tomorrow as I'm part of the Disney/Pixar blog hop!!!

Now... Ok, I don't know if I'm going to be able to part with this frame!  I am loving it for Halloween hehe!  I used the Chomas Creations engraving tip for the Cricut to do the circle designs.. I simply layered the circles in Design Studio with George then etched them onto Core'dinations cardstock, then lightly sanded them.
The papers and chipboard stickers are all Imaginesce.
Don't forget there is a sale at the Chomas Creations store!  Enter the code ella7 at checkout for 10% off your entire order!

Puppy love again with the Chomas Creations engraving tip

Being this weekend we are celebrating my Ella's 7th birthday, I figured I would offer a coupon code to the Chomas Creations store!  Enter ella7 at checkout to save 10% off your entire purchase!!!  Happy Birthday Ella!  Mommy loves you!

Some of you may think this layout looks a bit similar.  Well I decided to recycle a file I've already done, and use it in a girly way instead of for a boy this time!  You can see the original puppy love, as well as get the download here... puppy love layout

One of the things I've done for years with my background paper, is to remove part of it behind my pictures to conserve paper, and even to use for a matching title!  With the Core'dinations cardstock, one side is brown or black, and the other is a color.  So when I use the Chomas Creations engraving tip to etch in the Core'dinations, I can use the colored backside to match perfectly!  This is easier then you think!  First I place my pictures where they will be on my layout, and mark with a colored pen behind them so I know where to cut!
Then with my Fiskars trimmer, I know exactly where to cut to remove that paper.  The backside of this is pink and I used it to cut my title.  The Fiskars works best for this because of how you can position your blade in the middle of the paper.
As I have said already, I used the Chomas Creations engraving tip to get this look on Core'dinations cardstock.  I then lightly sanded the whole background sheet to really make the bones POP!
I used Doodletype for the title.  THe title is also include in the puppy love download.

I always have these journaling circles laying around that have been done with the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder for some quick journaling.
Here is the finished layout with my girl and her (well my hehe) new puppy!  She is in love!

Polka dot frame with the Chomas Creations engraving tip

Yet another frame for a craft show I'll be doing!  Be prepared to see a lot of them hehe!
For this one I used the Chomas Creations engraving tip with a scroll from the Cindy Loo cartridge on Shimmer Sheetz (they are like a silver mylar, very cool!) by Elizabeth Craft Designs.  As you can see the engraving tip etches into the sheetz!

I also used the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder to make the sentiment for the inside of the frame.

Don't forget there is still a sale going on in the Chomas Creations store! Use the code back10 at checkout to save 10% off your entire purchase!

Think Pink with Chomas Creations engraving tip

Have I mentioned that I have quite the talented artist for a daughter?  She made this amazing picture for my mom (I'm soooo jealous!  At least I have a picture of the picture!).
I made this layout for Custom Crops.  I used the Chomas Creations engraving tip for the title & the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder for the journaling circle.  Head on over to Custom Crops for more information on this page, as well as close ups!

Dog tags with the Chomas Creations engraving tip!

Oooh I had a cute pink flamingo page all prepared for today and have to wait till tomorrow to show you cause of how excited I am about the dog tags I made last night with the Chomas Creations engraving tip!
I found these Darice blank tags in stars, hearts and circles at a craft store.
I added them to my scanner and scanned them in with a white sheet of paper on top of them so they would show up better.
I used the trace function in Make-the-Cut to trace in the shapes.
I then used the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder to draw the shapes out onto a scrap piece of paper.
Next I used some of the Zip Dry glue to attach the tags on top of my drawn shapes.  The Zip Dry glue is like rubber cement and will rub away off of the back of your shapes when you are done.  I let it dry for a minute so the shapes wouldn't move.
I then put the mat back into the Cricut machine the same way it was when I drew the shapes. I used the thin paths feature in MTC to make the fonts thin that I was using.  (The black on my design is to hide my phone number, it is not on the actual pattern)
I inserted the Chomas Creations engraving tip and used multi-cut of 3 to engrave or etch the words into my tags.
This was tough to get a good picture of, and of course I had to blur out the rest of my phone number, but I hope you get the idea!!!  I'm sure there are more types of tags out there you could do the same thing with!  My new puppy will be wearing the heart one hehe!  You could use this same idea for anything you want to either draw on, or engrave on.  Click on the photos to see them even better.

Pupppy love with Chomas Creations engraving tip

There is a lot of puppy love in our house, some of which the puppy doesn't seem to appreciate hehe!  Don't worry, the puppy isn't in any danger!
I used the Chomas Creations engraving tip on Core'dinations cardstock to etch the bone pattern for background paper (lucky for me as I have no doggy paper!)  If you would like the Design Studio file which uses A Child's Year and Doodletype for the background paper and title, you can download it here... Puppy Love file
Here is the close up of the bones...
I used the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder to do the journaling box...
Here is the title and I used A Child's Year for the boy and puppy silhouette, I inked the edges of it.
And here is the completed page!

Bee Happy card with Chomas Creations engraving tip

Tyler at All That Jazz Supplies sent me some samples to try out with the Cricut & Silhouette, to see if they worked with the Chomas Creations tools!  This was my first try with the Chomas Creations engraving tip for the Cricut and the copper sheet from All that Jazz.  I used the new upgrade to MTC and some of the files I had downloaded from Lettering Delights (this is from Sweet Nothings gift card holders).  I added some foil tape around the copper sheet as well!  The copper worked great with the Chomas Creations engraving tip for the Cricut!

I also used the Chomas Creations embossing tip to score this 5x7 card!  You can get the file for Design Studio using George to do this card here... 5x7 card
