Just taking a moment to wish everyone of you a Merry Christmas, a happy holiday and hoping you are having a fantastic day, today and tomorrow!

Tuesday, December 22, 2009

Here is a fun one for journaling all those Christmas pages! I used the gel pen holders to make the lines for the journaling boxes, then cut out the shapes! You can add any shapes you would like to the cut file! I did this one for Custom crops and you can find it here Journaling tags along with the cut files and directions!
Here is a sneak peek!
Just a heads up! Sale prices are still on! I will ship any orders I get from now on, on Monday December 28th as I will be out of town for the holidays! Have a Merry Christmas everyone! Thanks for all your support this year! Amy

Here is a list and some links of the kind of gel pens and Sharpie markers that work with these holders.
The Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder can use the 20 different colors of Chomas Creations mini gel pens, or the 12 pack of Staples brand mini gel pens for a total of 32 different colors!

So I never thought I would buy the Paper Dolls cartridge, I always worried about how to get the faces to look right. Well then I thought, hey I can draw the faces on with my gel pen holders, I was all over that cartridge then and ordered it! I had so much fun doing these paper dolls for Custom Crops! I let Jack and Ella pick the clothes they wanted, now I want to add to their magnetic paper doll set!
By following the links you can get the cut files and directions for these projects!

And being that turkey season is upon us, I thought it was finally time to get those cute pics of my lil turkey done! Ella made this cute hat in preschool, and wore it for us all turkey day! Gotta love that kid! Another one for Custom Crops.

So I was asked by my good scrappin friend Jessie if you could "write" on pictures and to give it a try for her. Well the mini Sharpies are permanent, so this is what I did! I did use multi-cut, to get it to draw twice. I think it worked out fantastically and I'm going to have to try again, so many ideas, so little time!

So I've shared the news with lots of my friends and family, but I guess in case anyone missed it I should share it here as well! I was chosen to be on Custom Crops design team! WOHOOO! If there is one thing I love, it is designing scrapbook pages and such (ok, ok, love my kids and family to, blah blah blah). So here are some pages I have done for them already, and you can click on the links and see some directions on how I made them! Pretty cool!
Of course they are using the mini gel pen and mini Sharpie holders, so if you are looking for more ideas on how to use them, follow the links!!!

My sweet lil niece! I love her smiles! And how she runs up and gets all excited when she sees me hehe!
I used the mini Sharpie holder to outline Addi's nickname and to do the heart outlines, then used some Stickles over the top to make them really pop!!

1st day of school!!!
Well 2 down, 1 to go! I drove Ella to school as we still don't know if the bus will come and get her, I really wish people would call me back when they say they will! Here is my big girl on her first day of Young 5's...

And got Cam up and at them early this morn for his first day of 6th grade!!! I can't believe my lil boy is in middle school already! WOW! He gets to walk to school as it is just around the block, and though he says he wasn't excited for school to start, he kept asking when he could leave!

I got a couple of more layouts done, enjoying once again using the gel pen holder! The possibilities are endless with this little piece of equipment!
First is a layout of my 2 sweet monsters together, proof they do generally get along! It is those moments I live for!
I used SCAL with the gel pen to do the title, offsetting the letters for a funky title. The owl is my first attempt with piecing on SCAL! Wow am I ever loving that program!

Here is another layout again using the gel pen holder, outlining the title. I also made the journaling block in SCAL, the writing is done with the gel pen holder and the Cricut!

Another freezer paper T! This time for lil Jack! And what did he have to say about it? That it was scary (shudder!)

Friday, August 28, 2009

Boy I feel like I'm getting all crazy and crafty around here lately! Too much enabling goes on on the Cricut board, where I learned about freezer paper and how to use it as a stencil! And holy moly, this was a cheap task! A 75 square foot roll of freezer paper was only $4! Add a few clearance T's and voila! Ella's was first, her 5th birthday is coming up, she made the design for me! I followed it as best I could!

I also got all crazy and got some durabond (first time I've ever heard of it lol), which irons onto material, and then you can iron the material onto your T! Amazing! The most amazing part? You can use it on the Cricut! So here is Ella's shirt to wear to her birthday party tomorrow! She can't wait! I added some dark pink polka dots to the hearts to make them pop more after I took these pics.

Gel pen and Sharpie holder update!!! Anyone that has ordered by 9 pm eastern time on 8-25, your holders are in envelopes, in my car and heading to the post office tomorrow!!! So most of you will have them by the end of this week!!! Woohooo!!! Now I'm sitting with my feet up and drinking a pina colada to celebrate, that was a lot of work!!!

I'm figuring out so many fun things to do with the mini gel pen holders!!!! I got these awesome dingbats from Kut n Print (Kay) here... http://cleversomeday.wordpress.com/2009/05/24/new-free-dingbat-font-for-die-cutters/ Thanks so much Kay I love those things!!!
There are just so many possibilities with the gel pen holder and SCAL! I'm so loving figuring out fun new things, I maybe addicted lol!!!
And of course that little Jack's smile lights up my day!
I made the clouds in Sure Cuts A Lot and I'm so proud of myself!!! Oh the things I learn!

Friday, August 21, 2009

Ok, had fun with this one! I made rectangles for the background with SCAL, and drew them with the mini Sharpie holder! Then designed the title and used the mini gel pen holder for that! I got this from a sketch at 52 sketches http://52sketches52weeks.ning.com/ , I can't resist a good sketch!
I'm starting to think the possibilities are endless with these holders!

Thursday, August 20, 2009

I really put the gel pen holder to the test today! There is an amazing amount of details in these baseballs, and slow and steady it got er done!
I got this svg file from Todd over on craftedge and I couldn't wait to play with it! It took a long time, but it was worth the wait! This is Cam quite a few years ago in some pics I never got to because there was never baseball stuff I liked out there! Now I just make my own hehe!

The mini Sharpies and the mini Sharpie holder work beautifully on vinyl! Super simple project for my boys' door, it is a danger zone! The Keep Out is a fun font that is supposed to be wiggly and it did that wonderfully! And of course the smooth lines on the skull and crossbones came out fantastic as well!

The difference between the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder & mini Sharpie holder

Here is an example of the difference of using either the gel pen holder or the mini Sharpie holder.

Thursday, August 13, 2009

Well most that know me and that follow this blog know that I'm a scrapper! I'm not just a scrapper but one of those sick ones that makes sure their kids clothes coordinate for special occasions because those pages will be easier to scrap!
So when I asked the hubby to make me a gel pen holder for the Cricut, he knew how happy it would make me and got right to work! When some of my message board friends saw what hubby made me, they asked if they could get one. And what I thought would just be a few has grown! And I had requests for some holders for the mini Sharpies, and of course the hubby obliged!

If you are interested in either, you can email me at amyc222@yahoo.com for more information, or paypal me at amyc222@yahoo.com . Make sure you write in the comments which one you are ordering, or if it is for both.
Here is the gel pen holder...
