Another birthday party, another birthday card to bring! I recently purchased Silhouette's Designer Edition (like Studio with more goodies to try out!) and was playing around with some of the sketch options in it. One of the things you could do was fill your letters with this cross hatch pattern. So while this was simple to do in DE, I'm still going to share it for those of you without it! You can download the happy birthday design here... happy birthday
Just like yesterday's card, I have a lot of pre-cut 4x5.5 kraft cards I need to use up from the holidays, so I used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder with the black metallic Chomas Creations gel pen from the assorted pack of gel pens to draw the sentiment right on the card. Then I just added a chipboard sticker. Super easy!
Like what you see? Leave a comment to let me know!
Love the card. Love the design.
ReplyDeleteThis card is so cute....definitely follows the rule 'less is more'. I love it. Thanks for sharing it and the file. I just downloaded DE, so I can't wait to try something like this. :)
ReplyDeleteADORABLE! LOVING the little birdie! :):):):):):):):):):):)
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your design. I love your card! Donna
ReplyDeleteHi Amy,
ReplyDeleteAwwwww- this is soooo sweet - or should I say TWEET haha!
You've inspired me Amy. Hope you're having a happy and creative day.

I just now tried to copy your design; I used the file you shared and I had some trouble. I did find out my pens I got at Staples seemed dried out but I found a purple one that worked but it didn't leave a mark on the card when I tried the settings you gave so I dropped the pen down and then it marked connecting lines between words when it moved. Any ideas? It also went the wrong direction on my 4x5.5 card. Donna
ReplyDeleteDonna, can you email me? I'll try answering though! I don't know what holder you are using.
ReplyDeleteI do know that you can mirror the design though to get it to face right.
