Cat in the Hat with the Chomas Creations embossing kit and Make-the-Cut
I was just AMAZED at what Make the Cut and the embossing kit for the Cricut could do with this Cat in the Hat image! Look at those details!
The texture turned out awesome!!! This is what my file looked like before I embossed it, notice it is flipped as that is how you are able to sand the debossed side. I downloaded an image from a search I did through google to get these images.
To get this look, you need to flip the metal sheets from Ten Seconds Studios, colored side down, then emboss the image. Flip it over and sand the debossed side, and VOILA!
Here is the rest of the pages! I also cut the title with Make the Cut, using fonts from my computer.

I finally got the chance to do an artist printers tray for ME!!! I've been wanting to for a long time. I ordered the white one, you can see it here... white tray
I love love love the look of the embossing on the metal sheets and thought it would be perfect for what I wanted to do. The Ten Seconds Studio line of metal has some awesome colors that match all of the recent pattern paper lines.
To get this embossed look on the metal sheets, you have to flip them color side down onto the embossing mat, emboss using your Cricut, then sand off the debossed side. I love that look!
I picked a few of the designs that I loved from Graphically Speaking, flipped them in Design Studio, embossed them onto the metal sheets, then in order to get them just right in size, I made a template using transpency the size of the slots in the printers tray, inked the edges, then I could put the transparency on top of my designs to figure out exactly where I wanted it. I then used an embossing tip to trace around the transparency and used that guide line to cut out my design.
Here is my finished project! I used Basic Grey's Green at Heart line of patterned papers & embellishments for finishing touches.

Some friends of mine welcomed a new baby to the world in May, and I was lucky enough to do his newborn photo shoot, isn't he super sweet? Lucky little guy is making it into my scrapbook as well!
I got the idea of using the mini gel pen holder with the fuzzy vinyl from another lady, and loved it and had to try myself! You can find fuzzy vinyl here... Silhouette fuzzy vinyl It doesn't smear or anything! Using Nursery Rhymes, Design Studio, the fuzzy vinyl, and the mini gel pen holder with the new colors of gel pens, I created the title!!! The journaling lines are also with the mini gel pen holder as well!
Papers, embellies are all Making Memories Pitter Patter line.

Say you are making some cards and you can't find the right stamp, what do you do now? How about using your Cricut with the mini gel pen holder?
This is where Design Studio comes in handy! To start, I chose the cupcakes from Sweet Treats, which has some cute parts to draw on. On one page, which I renamed the cut page, I add all of my cuts for the cupcakes.
Then I layer the cupcakes I want to draw on top of these cupcakes, and copy and paste them onto the next page.
Then I cut the cut page, and without removing my mat, I switch out the blade for the mini gel pen holder, and some of the new colors of mini gel pens that are available now, and draw the draw page. This is what you get when that is all done...
I did the same for the "you're invited" tags for my cards. I started adding ovals to my page. I then fit the "you're invited" and squiggly lines inside of these ovals, then copied and pasted the ovals onto another page.
Again, cut the cut page, and draw the draw page with some of the new mini gel pen colors, and you get this...
They look just like they have been stamped! You never have to worry about not having the right stamp again, you can make your own!
I finished these projects with some patterned papers from SEI, added some ribbons to the cards, and then added the cupcakes, and labels, finishing them off with some Stickles for added bling! This was a quick way to get a lot of invitations done!
Here are the finished products...

I've made it a point to get into more photos with my kids, whether it be all 4 together, or 1 at a time, I'm getting out from behind the camera more! And do you know how special the kids feel when I make a layout about just me and them? Make it a point to get some pics of you and your kiddies, or you and your mom and get a page done!
This layout was made for Custom Crops using the embossing kit! You can get more details, close ups, and even the cut file here... You & me kid layout
And while you are there, feel free to leave a comment!

I know there are a lot of rumors going around about Jack, those all boy, trouble maker, into everything, keeps me on my toes rumors. Well this layout tells another side of my Jack, the side on just how much he loves me. Imagine my suprise when I found out from his preschool teachers just how much I guess all he talked about in school was ME lol!
This page used Doodletype to cut the title (one of my all time fav fonts) and used Straight from the Nest, Design Studio and the embossing kit to make these photo corners on black Ten Seconds Studio metal sheets. By flipping the metal sheets upside down on the embossing mat, you get a debossed side that you can sand off the color! The papers and chipboard are Die Cuts with a View.

Happy 4th of July weekend! Our 4th celebration spreads out for 3 whole days and nights, which can get tiring, but is totally worth it! 3 nights of fireworks in our city! How lucky am I?
Here is a layout using some of the Silhouette sketches that are available for download, the mini gel pen holder for the Silhouette, and the new glitter gel pens!! I love having all of these different colors to use! It does take a bit of time to draw the sketches, so while that is going on, I start on my layout. I used Viva Decor glitter glue to add some bling to the layout, that stuff is AMAZING! I love how it really pops, by pops I mean when it dries, it is still raised!!!
So here it is, my little firecracker! And I hope everyone has an amazing Independence Day!
