Shrink plastic and the Chomas Creations mini marker holder for the Cricut

Have I mentioned before that you can use shrink plastic with the Chomas Creations Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder in the Expression 2 or Cricut Mini with a Sharpie marker?
In case you missed it, you can do this! And cut it with the Cricut or Silhouette when you are done! Think of all your own embellies you can make!
Here is what the shrink plastic looks like straight from the Cricut...

To do this, just add the shrink film to the Cricut mat, cut with the blade housing, remove the blade housing, replace with your mini Sharpie holder, and draw the images! I had to use multi-cut 3 on the shrink plastic with the regular blade, and to get a better look with the Sharpies, I use multi-cut 2. To shrink my shrink film, I use my heat embossing tool! Just add a heat resistant surface to your surface (I just use a cardboard box), and warm them up and watch them shrink!
Here is a close up of the shrinkies, shrunk!

The paper and embellies are all Making Memories  Pitter Patter line.

October 31 with Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder

Halloween also means costumes and pictures!  Here is my youngest son's choice for the year!  Bumblebee from the Transformers.
I used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder in the Expression 2 with a Souffle gel pen (yes a full sized gel pen!) to draw all of the orange background circles.  These pens when dry have a poofy texture to them.  The popcycle stick adjusts the height for the pen, then you tighten the screw!

The title is from Happy Hauntings.  I added some cute brads to it!

The journaling circle on this page was also done with the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder in the Expression 2.  You can get a tutorial and the download for that here...  journaling circles

Here is the finished project with my Bumblebee!  He had to take his costume for a test drive!  hehe

On the go with Chomas Creations embossing kit

Warning:  this is a very busy layout!!!  But it was made for a very busy boy, hehe!  And when I say busy, I mean busy, don't at all that the photo on this layout fool you!
I used a stylus in the adjustable pen holder for the Cricut with Boys Will Be Boys to make all of the arrows for this page.  I embossed them on Ten Seconds Studios metal sheets, then sanded them.
I also used Boys will be boys to do the title on this page.
I used the adjustable pen holder to do the journaling lines.
Here is the busy completed page, along with my sweet boy!  The papers and chipboard are all My Mind's Eye.

Baby it's cold outside with Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder for the Cricut

Wooohoo! Moving onto cold weather layouts, finally!  This was last winter and I just love these rosy cheeks with snow melting on my son!
I used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder with a WHITE gel pen in the Cricut Expression2.  I drew the snowflake background with Doodletype.

I also used Doodletype to design the baby it's cold outside title.

I used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder to draw the journaling circle.  These were some I had on hand as I have a lot of them lying around and make a bunch at a time.

I used some chipboard stickers by Imaginesce to finish this page, as well as some glittery ribbon!

Senior photo mini album with Chomas Creations ajustable holder

Leave it to me to leave this to the last minute!  Just 2 days till my daugther's grad party and I'm still working on little projects (ok, so this one is kinda a big thing time wise!  I had this mini album sitting around just waiting to be done (2 pieces of acrylic and 4 pieces of chipboard, I had to decorate them).  I thought it would be cool to write on the arylic sheets of the album!  So I added the sheet with the blue protective cover on the bottom (that is why it looks blue in the picture) to my Cricut mat, then added some blue painters tape to keep it super secure, and added my Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder to the Cricut Expression 2.  Now being that I had this piece of acrylic in the machine that is higher then your standard cardstock, I wanted to adjust the height of my Bic Mark-It so that it didn't write on the surface of the acrylic.  So this time I added the popcycle stick on TOP of the acrylic sheet when choosing my height.  This kept it higher!

I used a speed of 2 (didn't want my marker to smear!) and a pressure of 2 then drew my design with the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder for the Cricut and a Bic Mark-It.

I used the Chomas Creations embossing kit to emboss the design onto a metal sheet.  I added the colored side of the metal sheet to the embossing mat, embossed the design, then sanded the raised image.

Here are some more pages in the album!  Wheeewh so glad that is done!

And here is the entire book put together!

Black & white card with the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder for the Cricut

I've always loved the look of white gel pen on black cardstock!  Now that the Expression2 is out, and there is no lip to block the height of the pens you put in the machine, Chomas Creations now has an adjustable pen and marker holder for it!  You can get more info on the new Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder and adjustable marker holder here... Chomas Creations
So I used the new Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder to hold the Uniball WHITE gel pen.  .  This is from the Cindy Loo cartridge.

The dots are all Viva Decor, love how that stuff stays poofy!

The biggest difference between the adjustable pen and adjustable marker holder...

I get asked this question A LOT!  The biggest difference between the Chomas Creations adjustable pen and adjustable marker holder is of course the size.  The adjustable pen holder is 3/8 inch in diameter and the adjustable marker holder is 1/2 inch diameter.  But what does this mean when using gel pens in the adjustable marker holder?  Well you are going to get what they call an offset (meaning the gel pen is NOT centered in the holder).  Now this means that if you want to draw an image, when you go to cut it it isn't going to be centered when you try to cut your shadow.  The adjustable pen holder is very close to center with most gel pens (Chomas Creations mini gel pens, Sakura, Gelly Roll, and more).  So when you go to cut your shadow with these gel pens, it is going to line up right for you.  If you go to put these same sized gel pens into the adjustable marker holder, you will notice you have to tighten the screw quite a bit, making it even further off center.
Here is a card I made using the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder for the Cricut with a Chomas Creations black mini gel pen (if you own the Expression 2, you can use any length gel pen!)  Notice how the shadow cut around the design very nicely!  If you want to try to make this card with Once Upon A Princess in Cricut Craft Room, I have the file here... birthday party
Oh and notice how far my cupcake pops off the page?  That is an Action Wobble Spring!  How neat is that?  I'm going to make my cards more fun with these hehe!

Bundle Up with Chomas Creations adjustable holder for the Cricut

Well yes it is spring.  But in Michigan it is FREEEEZING!  So I figured I could get in 1 last cold days layout hehe!  Next layout, SPRING or even summmer...  I can dream, right?
I used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder in the Cricut Expression 2 with a Sakura Glaze gel pen (a full sized gel pen!) to draw the journaling lines for this layout.  I have a share for CCR that you can make 9 of these journaling circles in 1 shot!  You can get that share here...  journaling circles

I used Lyrical Letters for the title on this page, and Simply Charmed for the glove and hat.  I can't resist googly eyes on my characters!!
Here is my completed page, along with some extra goodies!!!

Birthday wishes with Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder

One of my favorite things to do with the Chomas Creations holders is to make my own journaling goodies!  Circles are always my fav!  You can make these journaling circles with Cricut Craft Room and the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holders!  Get the download using George for these here... journaling circles
I used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder with a Sakura Glaze gel pen to draw the lines for these.

Without removing your mat from the machine, take out your pen holder and add the blade.  Now cut your circles!
I just love using these for journaling so my writing is all lined up!
Here is the right side of my layout!  You can see the left side of this layout using the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder and a Copic Multi Liner to draw the title and color with Copics here...  left side

Birthday wishes with Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder

This is the first side of a 2 page layout I am working on!  Tomorrow I will have a share for Cricut Craft Room!
I used the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder with a Copic Multi-liner (these are made by Copic to go with the Copic markers and they won't smear!) in the Cricut Expression 2.  As you can see height is no problem in the E2!
After I drew my title from Birthday Bash I used Copic markers to color it in!  Just think of all your own stamps you could make to color!  (As you can see I need some work on my coloring skills hehe!)

Here is the finished page! The papers and canvas stickers are all Imaginesce.
