Sparkle card with Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder
Oh boy, look what I ran across while shopping at Target the other day, NEON! My daughter was so excited! They also had these Sharpies all separate on an end cap to buy.
These original size fine tip Sharpies fit perfectly (& centered) in the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder for the Silhouette.
Now Sharpies will work wonderful on glossy surfaces such as transparency, vinyl, clear cardstock, glossy cardstock and more, but Sharpies may bleed into some papers. This is a special cardstock I really like from Papertrey Ink. It works great with Sharpies and also if you are a Copic user it is fantastic paper for that. The Sharpies will not bleed on this cardstock.
Now being that I wanted to use 4 different colors on this card, I figured I would show you how I do that. You need to click on cut line settings (1) in Studio and select you entire project (2) and then click on no cut (3). This is going to turn off all the lines that the Silhouette would normally cut.
Now you have 2 different colors that you have drawn with. Being that the Sharpie is centered in the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder you can see the the shadow of Sparkle is lined up perfectly!
I also added a stylus to the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder to score my card lines for easier folding. You can get the file for the card (not for the Sparkle design, that is a Studio paid download) here... scored 5x7 card.
Then I swapped out the adjustable holder for a blade and cut out the card. I know it may sound like a lot, but it is easy once you get the hang of it! This took me less then 10 minutes once my design was set to go. I'm just loving these bright fluorescent colors, they are perfect for my niece's sparkly personality!

Now click on the first image you want to draw, I'm choosing the word Sparkle (1) and click on cut (2).
Now you can draw your image. Add the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder and your first colored Sharpie to your Silhouette machine. I used a thickness of 1 (keep in mind you can crush the tip of a Sharpie marker if you use too high of a thickness, so make sure to check that you are on between 1-5) and a speed of 5.
Do not remove your mat from the machine for this next step. Take out your first colored Sharpie and add another different colored Sharpie. Now go back in Studio, the word Sparkle is still selected, so click on no cut. This will turn off that image. Click on your next image, which is the shadow of sparkle (1) and click on cut (2). Now draw this image using the same settings as above.
Again without removing your mat from your machine, keep going until all of you images are drawn. This only took me a few minutes as it is pretty quick to change out the markers in the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder.

Another brighter back to school sign with Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder
This is my daughter's back to school sign with more spunk! I used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder with the Gelly Roll Moonlight gel pens. Being these pens take longer to dry I slowed the speed down to 2 and used a thickness of 9.
The fonts are all chalkboard fonts as follows.
Ella... KG Second Chances
4th grade... Sketch Nice
Elementary... Sketch Serif
9 years old... Denne Shuffle Euro Hollow
Class of 2023... Vintage One
Again the school is partly edited out on this sign.

Back to school sign! With Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder
It's the most wonderful time of the year.... Hear me singing up here in Michigan? Kids are going back to school soon! I did this last year so they would each have a sign to hold up and it would be easier to remember which year is which for the scrapbooks! The kids loved them!
I used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder in the Cameo with a white Sakura Gelly Roll gel pen for my son's sign. This is just black cardstock, super simple! I used a thickness of 10 and a speed of 4 to draw everything. All of the fonts are chalkboard fonts that I found online. You can find out where I found them here... chalkboard fonts

Boys rule, girls rule with the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder
Well what should you do on a Sunday afternoon in the summer when there are thunderstorms? Create of course! And not feel guilty! I used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder with a Sakura metallic Gelly Roll gel pen to draw the lines and the title on this. I used the offset method to fill the lines in the title. You can find out how to do that here... offset fill in
I love making lines for journaling right on my background paper, then I can get all my words to line up and look clean and neat, even in my own handwriting.
Here are the finished pages! My daughter told me I spelled boys drool wrong! LOL! She cracks me up!

And now for the Explore...
Well I did it. I took the plunge. So many of you have raved about the Cricut Explore & begged me for tools for the Cricut Explore, that how could I turn you down?
So this came this weekend...
And my husband has already drawn up the plans for a marker holder (it will fit up to 1/2 inch markers, or a fine point original Sharpie), a pen holder for gel pens & an engraving tip to etch on metal sheets, acrylic, etc! So watch this blog for more details! I will work on pre-orders this week. Hoping to start shipping Mid-August, fingers crossed! For now I got to play with a prototype and got this...

1st birthday with Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder
Wow it has been a busy year in my house! We have been remodeling, and it takes a lot of time and effort! I did finally get to get a scrapbook page done of my nephew's 1st birthday, he is almost 2 1/2 now, eeeek!
I used the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder with the white Signo Uniball gel pen. I used the sketch feature in Studio to change a normal rectangle into the swirl pattern you see on my page. The title was a Studio download. The journaling is my own handwriting.

Cricut owners I need your help!
Cricut owners I need your help! I have had quite a few of you with the Explore ask if I'm going to make any holders for the Explore. Well I need opinions on what you are looking for!
If I had a pen holder that centers most gel pens, would anyone be interested in that? What about an engraving tip?
I don't have the machine (yet) and don't know if a 1/2 inch holder is an option (think original fine point Sharpie marker) but is that something anyone is interested in?
I need to see some interest before I invest in the machine and time to do all of this! Thanks for all your help!
You can contact me at amyc222@yahoo.com or just reply here!

Ooooh new gel pens to share with you!
Sometimes I get so excited about some new pens to share with you that I don't have the time to put together a project, but I did make a sample! I can't wait to play more with these! I was shopping at Joanns and ran across Sakura Gelly Roll pens that said they would work on matte and glossy surfaces, and I'm like, whooooah I need those! LOL! So here they are, and what they can do! This is silver vinyl. The gel pen fit in the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder.

Puppy Love with Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder
I just LOVE the look of white gel pen on kraft cardstock! I'm seeing it a lot out there lately as patterned paper, but why not make your own? I didn't have any dog papers, so I did just that. I used the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder with the Signo Uniball white gel pen to draw the dog bone pattern on my background paper. Because the white gel pens are very wet, I used a speed of 2and a thickness of 1 to draw this. The bones were from the Studio store.
The title was also from the Studio store.
We call my daughter the dog whisperer, she is so good with all of our dogs and they just love her to pieces! I added some extra hearts and brads for some more fun!
Want to try drawing your own background papers?? Use the coupon code june14 at checkout in the Chomas Creations store to save 10% off your order!
