My funny Valentines with Chomas Creations engraving tip

So I am finally getting around to making a scrapbook layout of the Valentine's day cards my kids made last year, hehe!  You can actually get the directions for these Valentines my kids made using the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder here.... Valentine's day cards
I used the Chomas Creations engraving tip for the Cameo on Core'dinations cardstock to make the heart border & lines around the title.

After I had etched the title, it didn't pop as I would have liked, so I decided to go a step further. The best part about Core'dinations cardstock is that one side is colored, and one is black.  So I cut a big piece that was hiding behind my 8x10 photo to use for cutting out the title.  Now you can really see it!

I used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder for the Cameo to hold a Souffle gel pen to draw the Valentine's sentiments.  Souffle pens do take a bit to dry, so I made sure that the rollers on the Cameo would not run them over to smear them.  You can also push the rollers aside if you need to.  The font I used was Altera.
And here is the finished page, along with my collage photo.  I love doing these to get a lot of pictures on a page!

Disney Pixar Blog hop!

I was so excited to be included in the Disney/Pixar blog hop!  This is one of my absolute fav blog hops as it always features such an amazing group of ladies!  And who doesn't love Disney and Pixar??  If you have come from Lori at Scrappin My Stress Away then you are in the right place!  If you just happened by my blog today and want to start at the beginning, head on over to Shawn's Crafty Chics.   There is a chance to win a ScrapN Easel-Ette!!   In case you get lost somewhere on the hop, the entire list is at the bottom of this post.

Now how about a cute project?  My daughter was in LOVE with Mickey Mouse when the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse first came out!  She would hear the song come on the TV and run into the room to watch!  So I thought it would be fun to document that!
You may notice I am using my Silhouette Cameo for this project, and you may think to yourself, but there is no Mickey in the downloads!??!!  Well that is ok!  I found some Mickey Mouse ears, opened them in Silhoutte Studio and then traced them!  I used the Chomas Creations engraving tip in the Silhouette Cameo to etch the Mickey ears as my background on Core'dinations Black Magic cardstock (the color on the back was white) to get this look.  I used my pressure on 33, speed on 8 and double cut.

I used the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder with a Paper Mate Flair (like a felt tip pen) to do the journaling on this page using some of the Lettering Delights new thin fonts.  I used my speed on 6 and my pressure on 6.

The title was done with a Minnie font I downloaded from dafont.

Here is my page all put together with my Mickey loving princess!  I also cut out the Mickey ears and layered them on the page and added ribbon.

So how about your chance to win one of the Chomas Creations adjustable holders?  Leave a comment on what you would try with either the Chomas Creations adjustable holders for the Silhouette Cameo or Cricut!  You don't have to be a follower of this blog, but why not?  One chance per person please.  I need a way to contact you!  I'll draw a winner around Wednesday.

Card and layout with Chomas Creations holders

Yesterday my daughter turned 18 (shocking I know!) I wanted to make a page while the thoughts of this day were fresh in my head. And oh boy do I have some thoughts on it...
I used the Chomas Creations engraving tip to etch the circles into the Core'dinations kraft-core cardstock. I had my speed set at 7, my pressure at 33, and I used double cut.  Then I used a brillo pad to give a light sanding to the surface to clean it up.

The eighteen title was a download from the Studio store called eighteen.  I added it on one of the bracket designs.
I had a lot of journaling to do on this layout, so I did it on the computer and printed it on kraft cardstock, then added ribbon to it.

Then I added one of my daughter's senior pictures (taken by me!) and some chipboard hearts (I'm bringing chipboard back!) and buttons.

I also did a birthday card for my son that is 14 today!  Yes my kids are born 4 years and 1 day apart!  I used the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder with the Paper Mate flair pens.  They are like felt tip pens, but don't squish down when you use them in the Cameo, and they don't bleed into cardstock!  You can download the happy birthday background for your card that I designed here... happy birthday.  The font I used was altera (looks like a single lined font!)  I used my speed at 5 and thickness at 7 to draw the background.  I inked this chipboard star red (see I told you I was bringing chipboard back!) and attached it to my page with some ribbon.  Super quick card that doesn't look it!
Welcome to the Getting’ Crafty with the Cameo blog hop. We’re all so happy to have you hopping along with us, so grab a drink and sit back and enjoy. There is a great line up with some amazingly talented ladies that are super excited to share their projects with you using their Silhouette Cameo (if you get lost anywhere in the hop, the list of the ladies is at the bottom of this post).
I don't know if you know this about me, but I LOVE blog hops! I was sooo glad to be included in this one and I can't wait to see what everyone does hehe! I just love learning all these new things to do with the Cameo, and this is an easy way to find out!
If you have come from Nancy's blog Always a Story Creations by Nancy you are in the right place! If you just stopped by my blog today to see what I was up to, you really should start at the beginning of the hop at Kristy's blog Scraptastical Kreations.

ABC layout using the Chomas Creations engraving tip

Oooh the things you can do with the Chomas Creations engraving tip and Core'dinations cardstock!  I'm having a blast with the new kraft-core Core'dinations (as some of you that follow my blog may know!), so this is right up my alley!
The kraft-core comes in a 24 pack, and the core is the kraft, so when you engrave with the Chomas Creations engraving tip for the Cricut that is what shows through!  Keep reading for your chance to win some, and a Chomas Creations engraving tip, woohooo!
I used the pressure on 5 and double cut, then used a brillo pad to gently sand the surface.
I used the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder with black metallic mini gel pen to draw the journaling lines.  You can get more info and the download here... journaling circles

I cut some letters the same size as the engraved ones and added them to the page, along with some ribbon.  Pretty simple page, but doesn't look it!

It must be your lucky day!!

Woohoo!  It was my lucky day! Core'dinations sent me some of their new Tim Holtz kraft-core cardstock to test out, and sent some extra for me to give away!  But that isn't all!  I'm also giving you the chance to win a Chomas Creations engraving tip for either the Silhouette Cameo or Cricut, your choice!  The coolest part is what an awesome job the Chomas Creations engraving tip does on the Core'dinations papers!  If you want to see more of what I've done with it, you can see tons of them here... Chomas Creations & Core'dinations!  I'm going to have to say the new kraft-core is my absolute fav of the bunch!!
Check out what I did with the Chomas Creations engraving tip for the Silhouette Cameo on the kraft-core cardstock!  If you pay attention to my blog, you will know how much I love kraft!  I'm in kraft heaven here!  And the pack of paper sent to me has 24 different colors!  So you have a chance at that as well!!!!  I used the speed of 6 and pressure of 33 and a double cut to get this look.  Then I use a brillo pad to gently rub over the design, this smooths the design and makes it pop!  The design is the shamrock lace from Studio.

The title is also from the Studio store called pinch proof phrase.

And of course what kind of page would this be without one of my journaling circles, hehe!  You can get the download for these here... journaling circles
I added a bit of ribbon and my pictures and this page is DONE!

So are you ready to give this a try???  Your chance to win a Chomas Creations engraving tip and the Core'dinations kraft-core cardstock is right here!  Leave a comment on what you would do with Chomas Creations engraving tip and the Core'dinations cardstock!  Only one try per person please!  I will draw a winner sometime 3-25!

Goofy layout with Chomas Creations engraving tip

Man I feel like I have been slacking lately!   I apologize!  I really miss making layouts to tell you the truth, got to add to that stack that is almost up to the ceiling (ok not really that high, but I have a lot of layouts that need to find homes hehe!)
I found these silly pictures on my computer the other day and couldn't resist a fun page with them!  My sister has a ton of old Halloween costumes that the kids always go through and play dress up with!  The kids all love it!
I used the Chomas Creations engraving tip for the Silhouette Cameo to etch the background pattern onto Core'dinations cardstock.  The design was a download for Studio called chevron stripes background.  And I have a tip for you!  I used a brillo pad to "sand" the background after it was etched.  It left the dark black color but really made the white underneath POP!

I used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder for the Silhouette Cameo with a Sakura glaze pen in black to draw the subway title that I downloaded from Studio called phrase goofy.  I love how the glaze pen looks kind of like it is raised after it is drawn.  I added a shadow to the title, and then without removing the mat from the Cameo, I took out the pen holder, added the blade and cut the shadow.

I also used one of my journaling circles made with the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder. You can get the file and tutorial for these here... journaling circles

Here is the completed page with some of  my favorite goofballs!

Spidey layout with Chomas Creations engraving tip for the Silhouette

More Halloween pages!  Got to get last years done before this Halloween rolls around hehe!
My son is in LOVE with Spiderman, so he knew that is what he had to be for Halloween!  And being he was Spidey, I wanted a Halloween page with spiderwebs and spiders!  Being I used the Cameo, I got to make a full 12x12 sheet of background paper!   I used the Chomas Creations engraving tip for the Silhouette to etch these spiderwebs into Core'dinations cardstock.  They were the free download for the week with Studio.  The engraving tip is available for pre-order in the Chomas Creation's store now!
The title was done with the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder for the Silhouette.  I then cut around it with the blade, that new click blade in the Cameo is AMAZING!  If you are just keeping your Silhouette or Silhouette SD and want better cutting, it will fit in those machines to.
And here is my little web slinger!
Don't forget to use the coupon code 10fall to save 10% off at checkout in the Chomas Creations store!

Enjoy every moment with Chomas Creations engraving tip for the SIlhouette

Did you know there is now a pre-order going on for the Chomas Creations engraving tip for the Silhouette?  You can read more about that here... Silhouette engraving tip
Here is a page I did using the Chomas Creations engraving tip for the Silhouette with Core'dinations cardstock on the bottom half.
Using the exact same file I used the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder for the Silhouette to draw the top half of this layout.
I also used the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder to draw the lines for this journaling circle.  You can get the free file for that here... journaling Silhouette
Here is the finished layout!  It is my oldest daughter's senior year of high school, so these are some words of advice I had for her!

Kalahari layout with Chomas Creations engraving tip

Last year for my mom's 60th birthday all of her kids, spouses and their kids took her to the Kalahari in Ohio to celebrate!  We had an AMAZING time!  I highly recommend it there, tons of fun things to do!
I used the Chomas Creations engraving tip with MTC and Core'dinations cardstock to make the title and leaves on this page.  You use the engraving tip with a regular Cricut mat, I like to use a multi cut of 2, and then give my designs a light sanding.
I also used the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder with MTC to add journaling lines right on my page!  I actually did it when the pictures and ribbon and paper were already on my page as a last minute thing!  It worked awesome, and I'll be trying it again!  And look how much easier it is to keep everything in line!  Lots of room for journaling!
I made this a 2 page layout as I had a ton of pictures I needed to add!

Don't forget to use the coupon code pink10 to save 10% off your entire order in the Chomas Creations store!  Offer ends 10-16!

Halloween frames with Chomas Creations embossing kit & engraving tip

I like to show the difference between the Chomas Creations embossing kit & the Chomas Crations engraving tip from time to time using the same image, so you can get a better idea of what they each do!  With the Chomas Creations embossing kit you get a raised image on things such as metal or vellum.  Here I used it on a metal sheet to make the spooky title and the embossed cirlce image.  I sanded the raised image to give it this look.
I used the Chomas Creations engraving tips with Core'dinations cardstock on these frames to do the spooky title and circles.

I decided to try something a bit different this time and added some Mod Podge to the engraved cardstock to see what would happen, and I really like how it glossied it up just a bit.

Notice the difference?  One is more for embossing (leaving a raised surface with the Chomas Creations embossing kit), and the other for engraving, or etching (scratching into the material with the Chomas Creations engraving tip).
If you have ever looked at the tips together, they do have different tips to them.  The Chomas Creations embossing tip is an aluminum tip, which the Chomas Creations engraving tip has a tip made of carbide.
Here are all 4 of the finished Halloween frames I did!  The papers and goodies are all Making Memories.

You can get both the Chomas Creations embossing kit or engraving tip on sale this week in the Chomas Creations store when you use the coupon code pink10 at checkout for 10% off your entire order!
