Birthday card with Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder

One of the coolest things about the Sakura Souffle gel pens is how they look on black cardstock!  And they also look like they have a slightly raised texture.
I used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder with the pink Souffle gel pen to draw the flourish background on this card.  The design as well as the birthday sentiment are from the Silhouette Studio store.

Once again I used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder with a stylus to score this card.   You can get the tutorial and file for Studio for the card here... 5x7 card
I added some Viva Decor to make the white raised images on this card as well.

Palm tree card with Chomas Creations engraving tip

I have a wedding to go to this weekend and the invites had a tropical feel to them, so I decided to go with a palm tree card!  I was just thinking how neat it would be to go with a distressed feel and etching these palm trees, so I gave it a go!
These palm trees are a download from the Silhouette Studio store, as well as the congratulations file.  I used the Chomas Creations engraving tip for the Cameo to etch the palm tree design onto Core'dinations kraft core cardstock.  Being the engraving tip was already in the Cameo, I also used it to score my card.  I recommend only doing the cut line once for scoring as too many times can make the card rip apart when you fold it.  I would also only do this on the heavyweight cardstock.
Look at how easy the scoring by the Chomas Creations engraving tip makes folding this card!

The back of the kraft core cardstock is kraft, so I cut the sentiment out of that and added it to the front of the card.  One thing is for sure, the Cameo can sure cut small details!  This is also nice as the inside of my card is kraft as well, so easier to see the writing on.
The Core'dinations looks even more distressed with a light sanding!

Have a sweet birthday card with Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder

I couldn't wait to try these Sakura Moonlight gel pens I found on black paper, the front of the package said "paint like effect writes on dark paper".  So I gave them a shot in the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder in the Silhouette.
These gel pens are a bit wetter then most, so I slowed my speed to 3, and used a pressure of 10.  The sentiment was a paid download from Studio store.  The cupcakes were from a free font called MTF Sweet Dings.  She has a lot of free fonts and ding bats, so that site is worth checking out!  I also used a stylus in the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder to score this card.  There is a tutorial for scoring with the Silhouette here... scoring cards
Here is the completed card.  I love how this bright blue and turquoise showed up on the card!

Scoring a card with the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder & stylus

Want an easy way to score fold lines??  Look no further!  I used a stylus (I do have these in the Chomas Creations store if you don't already have one) in the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder to score 110 pound cardstock, which is the thickest I can think of that would be good for cards.  You do NOT need an embossing mat for this, just an original Silhouette mat.
I used the smaller tip of the stylus as shown here.
You can get the file for a 5x7 card for Studio with the score line here... 5x7 card  All parts of files are set up to cut when you send them to the Silhouette Cameo. But I don't want to cut the middle score line for the card, I want to score it. So first I click on the cut style icon on the top menu of Studio (1) to get my options, which are located at the right side of Studio. I need to turn off the large rectangle that will be my card, so I click on that, then click on no cut (2).

Now add the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder with the stylus to the Silhouette Cameo and set the pressure all the way at 33.  The line shown in this picture is layered 5 times, so it will run over the line 5 times to really score it.
Next we want to cut the card out. To do this we need to switch our options in cut style. This time we select the line we scored and select the no cut option. Now select the large rectangle for the card and select cut. Without removing your mat from the Silhouette, carefully switch out the stylus for the blade. Now cut the rectangle.

You will have a scored line right down the middle of your card!  You may have to click on the picture to see it larger and see the score line.

Fold it in half and use a bone folder to smooth out the edge!  You have a scored card!
Of course you don't have to just use this with cards, you can do this with any score line!

abc thanks card with Chomas Creations adjustable holders

I needed a quick thank you card for my daughter's teacher and love the look of "chalk" on "chalkboard" this is hot right now.  I created this card in Studio and you can get the share for it
here... abc thanks  The font I used is a Lettering Delights thin font called Sparkle.
I used the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder with a white Signo Uniball gel pen (adjust your speed to 1 and thickness to around 3) to draw the design.  I also used a stylus in the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder to score my card.  There is a tutorial for scoring cards here...  score card

Berry Sweet card scoring with Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder

One of my favorite parts of the end of June and beginning of July is Michigan strawberries!  And the best part is my mother in law has a TON in her garden!  So that marks the season of fresh strawberries, strawberry shortcake, strawberry pie, and a lot of strawberries left to freeze for fruit smoothies!  I saw this berry sweet file and knew this would be the perfect thank you card for the mother in law!
Did you know you can use the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder with the stylus to score cards???  Why yes you can!  This is a super easy way to make sure your cards line up and easy to do!  You do NOT need the embossing mat for scoring cards, just the stylus.  Add the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder in place of your blade, add the stylus, set the height with the popcycle stick, and set your pressure to 33 (thicker cardstocks may need a double cut).  You can download the file for the 5x7 card here... Studio 5x7 card

All parts of files are set up to cut when you send them to the Silhouette Cameo.  But I don't want to cut the middle score line for the card, I want to score it.  So first I click on the cut style icon on the top menu of Studio (1) to get my options, which are located at the right side of Studio.  I need to turn off the large rectangle that will be my card, so I click on that, then click on no cut (2).
Now add the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder with the stylus to the Silhouette Cameo and use double cut with the pressure all the way at 33.
Fold it in half and use a bone folder to smooth out the edge!

I used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder for the Silhouette Cameo with the green metallic mini gel pen to draw the berry sweet sentiment, which was a download from Silhouette Studio.  I then colored it in with the Copic markers.  While the mini gel pen didn't bleed, I think I used the wrong paper for this one as the Copics did bleed a bit!  Whooops!
The paper is Imaginesce.  The ribbon is little Yellow bicycle.
