Love my Cameo blog hop

Welcome to the Love My Cameo blog hop!  So glad you stopped by!  If you just stopped by today to see what was going on, you are in luck!  I'm the first part of the Love My Cameo blog hop!  At the end of this post is the list of all the blogs that are on the hop in case you get lost.

Around 2 1/2 years ago I decided to buy myself a Silhouette machine as a friend of mine had said how much she loved the designs you could download.  I went to the site to look for myself and was AMAZED!  And the designers they hired to make the designs were some of my fav companies.  Well now I have a library of over 10,000 designs (I got the Silhouette at the right time!) and have since upgraded to the Cameo.  The only thing that was missing was people just like me with these machines to have a place to talk about them!  Well that has changed as the Cameo seems to be the talk all around the internet now! 

Being Valentine's Day is soon approaching, what could be better then a Love my Cameo blog hop to share the love we are all feeling for this amazing machine?  In case you don't know, blog hops are easy!  You start here, follow my link to the next blog, and keep on going!  There will be loads of ideas and inspiration on the way!  Be sure to follow the blogs on this hop to find out even more about the Cameo with the tutorials a lot of these blogs offer!

Enough babbling by me!  Let's get started!
I used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder for the Silhouette Cameo with a stylus to emboss on this Ten Second Studio's metal sheet.  By adding the colored side of the metal sheet down to the Chomas Creations  embossing mat, after embossing the colored side has a raised image you can sand to get this look!  I had my pressure on 33 and my speed at 6.  You can download the heart designs I'm using on this layout here... heart design

I then used the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder to draw with a Sharpie paint markers (won't bleed into cardstock!) to draw the heart designs on the page.  I had my pressure at 10 and my speed at 4.

I added some patterned paper to my page and finished it up with ribbon and buttons, and of course some pictures I took of my kiddies for Valentine's day along with words that made them think of what love is.

And what would Valentine's Day be without a card?  This one is going to be for my hubby!  I used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder with the Chomas Creations black metallic mini gel pen to draw the XOXO background.  Then I used the linked by love stamp from Sarah Hamer Designs to stamp the sentiment on to the heart design.  I thought it fit perfectly with the 2 linked hearts!  I cut the heart design 3 times and then layered it so it would pop off my card a bit more.

Lovable layout with Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder

Every once in awhile I can't help but to go through old pictures and thinking back...  I found these of my youngest son, look at those chubby cheeks, and that smile that lights up his eyes!  I couldn't resist printing them off and scrappin them!

Thinking of you card with Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder

Ok, having a WOW moment here!  I know the Cameo is amazing, I know it can draw, but WOW can it draw even the tiniest details, and quickly to! 
I downloaded this field flowers design from Studio and added some text.  I then added the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder with the Chomas Creations glitter pink gel pen (yes even the Chomas Creations mini gel pens fit in the adjustable holder!!!) to the Cameo, then drew this design! My speed was at 6 and my thickness at 11.  This was soooo quick and easy!  And click on the pic and you can even see the glitter!  I'm just in amazement right now!

Little Animal with Chomas Creations embossing kit

Now this is one of my fav things to do!  It does take awhile, so you have to be patient, but the results are soooo cool!  It is embossing these intricate designs with the Cricut!  I traced this Animal image in Make-the-Cut and then used the Chomas Creations embossing kit in my Cricut to emboss the image on a metal sheet.  Then I sanded the raised image.  How cool is that???

The title was welded together in MTC using the font LD Blankie.

The journaling circles were made with the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder in the Cricut.  You can see a video on how to make them and download the file here... journaling circles

brrrr... with Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder

My daughter enjoying some of the rare snow this season!  Here I thought this early snow fall was a sign that there would be loads of snow this year, but no, we are having some 50 degree days up here in Michigan!

I used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder for the Cameo with the black metallic Chomas Creations mini gel pen to draw the outline on this page.  I then used the Copic markers to color the penguins in and added some googly eyes!

You crack me up with Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder

One thing is for sure about my youngest, Jack, he is a crack up!  But that leads to one problem, if you want a serious picture of him, it is near impossible to get!  So I work with what I have.

The graph background was done using the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder for the Cricut with a metallic silver Sharpie marker in CCR using George.  I just love graph looking paper on my layouts and cards!

The red squares were embossed on metal sheets using the Chomas Creations embossing kit for the Cricut using CCR & George.  By adding my metal sheet colored side down, I was able to emboss on the metal sheet, then sand off the raised image for this look.

The title was done using CCR & Birthday Bash.

Here is the finished layout along with my crack up!  Now notice the black border around the whole page.  Before I add it to the page, I cut the inside of the sheet of paper out (my frugal tip for the day!) and then I can use that paper to cut the title or anything else I may need, and it matches perfect!  I do this behind large areas that will be covered up.

I've got you babe card with Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder

So today is my 9th anniversary!  Lucky for me I know how to make cards, hehe!  Or should I say lucky for my hubby!  February is not only  my anniversary month, but also Valentine's day and my birthday!  We should all take a moment to feel sorry for my hubby hehe!

I found these awesome Sharpie metallic markers in silver, and WOW do they show up as silver!  I was playing on the kraft cardstock and loved the look, and decided even with hearts, this would make a manly card!
I used the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder for the Cameo to draw the heart design I got as a Studio download called I've got you babe.  After the hearts were drawn, there was a gap between the outside line, so I simply colored them in.  Took me less then a minute!

Then I just cut out the I've got you babe sentiment in black cardstock and added glitter ribbon.  To make the sentiment pop, I cut it out 3 times and layered it.  Looks a lot harder to make then it was!

Happy Birthday with Chomas Creations adjustable holders

I've always loved the idea of the Souffle gel pens.  They have a little bit of a fluffy look to them.  While playing with them I found they work best when you slow the speed down on the Cameo, it gives more time for the ink to get onto the surface.
This was actually a very quick card as I used the balloons sketch & happy birthday script from the Silhouette store. 
Using the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder with the thickness at 9 & the speed at 3, I added the Souffle gel pens to the holder and drew out the images.  Then I took less then a minute to color in the sentiment.

It's a boy card using Chomas Creations embossing kit

It's a boy card (hopefully, every once in awhile they are wrong!) for my new nephew that will be coming on Thursday!  I'm very excited for his arrival!

I used the Chomas Creations embossing kit to make the bottle border on the bottom of this card.  By adding the metal sheet colored side down, then embossing, you can sand the raised image to get this look.

I also used the Chomas Creations embossing tip (this time without the mat) to score the fold in my card.  I have a tutorial on that here... score card tutorial

Happy Birthday card with Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder

Another birthday party, another birthday card to bring!  I recently purchased Silhouette's Designer Edition (like Studio with more goodies to try out!) and was playing around with some of the sketch options in it.  One of the things you could do was fill your letters with this cross hatch pattern.  So while this was simple to do in DE, I'm still going to share it for those of you without it!  You can download the happy birthday design here... happy birthday
Just like yesterday's card, I have a lot of pre-cut 4x5.5 kraft cards I need to use up from the holidays, so I used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder with the black metallic Chomas Creations gel pen from the assorted pack of gel pens to draw the sentiment right on the card.  Then I just added a chipboard sticker.  Super easy!

Happy Birthday sketch card with Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder

I wanted to have some creative fun with my feet up, so I pulled out the good ole' Wacom tablet and started drawing in MTC (Make-the-Cut).  I found you can draw a lot smoother in MTC then you can in Silhouette Studio.  You can change around the smoothing and precision for drawing in MTC as well, which helped a lot with my flower sketch, which you can download for MTC here... flower sketch
To make card making easier this year, I invested in a 50 pack of 4x5.5 inch cards with envelopes in kraft color.  I added this to my mat and drew right on it.

I used layers in MTC as well, so that I could draw in different colors of Sharpie glitter paint markers using the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder.  To do this, it is as simple as turning off layers (clicking on the eye to turn off a layer).  As you can see I turned off the grass and flower stems and then drew the petals and happy birthday sentiment first. 

Then insert the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder into the Cameo & add the Sharpie paint marker into the holder.  Draw your images on a pressure of 8, and speed of 5.  Do not remove your mat from the machine.
Now swith the layers that are on and off, so that the grass and stems are now showing.  Replace your Sharpie paint marker in the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder (you do not need to take the holder out of the machine) with a green marker.  Now draw these images.

This is a pretty simple card.  I did add some Viva Decor glitter glue to the center of my flowers.

Birthday boy card with Chomas Creations marker holder

My nephew's birthday is this month so I needed a boy like card for this one.  I found these silver cardstock like papers at Joanns and Target that are by Colorbok and are super cheap!  The silver is slippery, so you need something like a Sharpie or Bic Mark-Its (permanent markers) to use to write on it.
Because he turned 11, I added 11 candles to the card with the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder and a Bic Mark-It.  I like to use double cut when using the  markers to make them show up even more bold.  The candle was from Studio (birthday candle) as well as the birthday boy phrase (house of 3 birthday boy).

It's a girl card with Chomas Creations engraving tip

Ooooh I love me some clear cardstock for making cards!!!  And my fav thing to do with it is etch into it with the Chomas Creations engraving tip!
One of my friends just had a baby girl, so I thought it would be fun to etch some baby designs that I downloaded from Studio (baby shapes), and then etched them with the Chomas Creations engraving tip as a border along the bottom of this card.  It is hard to see in the picture, but click on it to get a better look.

I also used the It's a Girl design from Studio (It's A Girl design by Hero Arts ) to add to the front of the card.  Layering on clear cardstock is my fav thing to do!  I added this bracket design (2 layer tag) to the inside back of the card and for a place to write, I added a cream colored one to the back of the card.
