Engraving tip or embossing tip?

I've had a lot of questions on the difference between the Chomas Creations engraving tip and embossing tip, and I wanted it in an easy to find place for you all!
The Chomas Creations engraving tip is made of a very hard carbide, which is ground to a sharp point.  You use it with your Cricut mat to engrave, or etch into acrylic, plastic, clear cardstock, transparency, Core'dinations cardstock, or any surface you can think of!  The Chomas Creations engraving tip is one piece that goes straight into your Cricut where your blade would normally go.

The Chomas Creations embossing tip works with an embossing mat which goes on your Cricut mat to emboss on metal, vellum and thin paper.  It gives a raised look to those surfaces, which can be sanded for a different effect completely!  The Chomas Creations embossing tip is made of aluminum and is slighty rounded to give that look.  The embossing tip is one piece that goes where your blade would normally go.
