Baby goodies layout with Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder

Looking for the perfect way to add all of those goodies you got when you were at the hospital with your newborn? Well here it is! I got the hat, bracelets, and foot prints all on one page that easily slides into a 12x12 page protector to go in your album! I also did these layouts for my older children, but with the Cricut it was a million times easier!
I used a Ultra Fine point Sharpie in the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder to write the name, date & time on the transparency and added some cute trinkets behind them.

Between a sheet of patterned paper and white card stock I added form core board.  I did cut it smaller then 12x12 to fit into my page protectors and used an exacto knife to cut out the squares to add my goodies to.

Clear cardstock card with the Chomas Creations marker holder! And a big sale!!!!

I just can't get enough of the clear cardstock, and there are sooo many ideas rolling around inside my head!  I started by "drawing" the snowflakes with the Chomas Creations marker holder and an ultra fine Sharpie in the Cricut.   I got this clear cardstock to give a try from Papertrey Ink.
I have this flocked vinyl from Silhouette that I used to do the snowy hills and the snowmen, and the snow on top of the trees, it cuts easily with the Cricut. The hills I just hand cut with an exacto knife.  The snowmen are on the front of the card, and the trees are on the inside of the card!

Of course no snowman is complete without googly eyes!!!

Senior photo mini album with Chomas Creations ajustable holder

Leave it to me to leave this to the last minute!  Just 2 days till my daugther's grad party and I'm still working on little projects (ok, so this one is kinda a big thing time wise!  I had this mini album sitting around just waiting to be done (2 pieces of acrylic and 4 pieces of chipboard, I had to decorate them).  I thought it would be cool to write on the arylic sheets of the album!  So I added the sheet with the blue protective cover on the bottom (that is why it looks blue in the picture) to my Cricut mat, then added some blue painters tape to keep it super secure, and added my Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder to the Cricut Expression 2.  Now being that I had this piece of acrylic in the machine that is higher then your standard cardstock, I wanted to adjust the height of my Bic Mark-It so that it didn't write on the surface of the acrylic.  So this time I added the popcycle stick on TOP of the acrylic sheet when choosing my height.  This kept it higher!

I used a speed of 2 (didn't want my marker to smear!) and a pressure of 2 then drew my design with the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder for the Cricut and a Bic Mark-It.

I used the Chomas Creations embossing kit to emboss the design onto a metal sheet.  I added the colored side of the metal sheet to the embossing mat, embossed the design, then sanded the raised image.

Here are some more pages in the album!  Wheeewh so glad that is done!

And here is the entire book put together!

Day 4 1 design different looks with the Chomas Creations tools

A lot of people ask me if they can fit an original Sharpie in the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder and the answer is YES!  How awesome is that?  That is about the thickest marker that you can fit in it.
If you are just joining my blog, I have given myself a challenge to use the Chomas Creations tools to create different looks with 1 file.
If you would like to see some of the other designs I have tried out, here is...
Day 1
Day 2
Day 3
Today I used the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder with a Sharpie to draw the chevron design from the Silhouette Studio store on clear cardstock.
You don't want to crush the tips of your Sharpies, so I used a thickness of 3, a speed of 3, and double cut (this makes your design really POP).

The sentiment is a download from the Studio store.  I added 2 square pieces of white cardstock to the back of the card.  For these kind of cards I write a message on the very back so you don't see it inside the card.

Now I won't have another different design tomorrow, but come back as I have another cool project that I have done!!
And I will continue the 1 design different looks either Monday or Tuesday next week as I have a couple more ideas!

Happy Mother's Day with Chomas Creations engraving tip

Tis the season for Mother's Day cards to honor the special moms in your life!  This one is for my mom, and I wanted to bring a little sunshine and flowers her way!  I used the Chomas Creations engraving tip for the Silhouette Cameo on some clear cardstock (like transparency but thicker) to etch the flower border design.  I used the pressure on 33, the speed at 5 and double cut on the Cameo settings.  The sun, grass and flowers are all Studio downloads.  I love using clear cardstock to layer designs!  And it folds nicely to make cards as well.  Click on any of the photos below to get a better idea of this card!  It is hard to get a good pic of clear cardstock!

It's a girl card with Chomas Creations engraving tip

Ooooh I love me some clear cardstock for making cards!!!  And my fav thing to do with it is etch into it with the Chomas Creations engraving tip!
One of my friends just had a baby girl, so I thought it would be fun to etch some baby designs that I downloaded from Studio (baby shapes), and then etched them with the Chomas Creations engraving tip as a border along the bottom of this card.  It is hard to see in the picture, but click on it to get a better look.

I also used the It's a Girl design from Studio (It's A Girl design by Hero Arts ) to add to the front of the card.  Layering on clear cardstock is my fav thing to do!  I added this bracket design (2 layer tag) to the inside back of the card and for a place to write, I added a cream colored one to the back of the card.

Think Pink card with Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder for the Silhouette/Cameo

If there is one thing my mom loves, it is pink and pink flamingos, ok, 2, but they go hand and hand hehe!  If you read my blog you probably already know this!!!  Also I have the winner picked for the Disney/Pixar blog hop, just scroll down!
Now some of you may know I got the Cameo, and I found out I could use it with Sure Cuts a Lot, so I downloaded SCAL 3 (I didn't replace SCAL 2 on my computer, so I can still use that with my Cricut) and went to town!  I had this pink flamingo image from awhile back for SCAL and gave it a go!
I used the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder for the Silhouette/Cameo with a Bic Mark-It (these are  permanent markers that come in fine tip and ultra fine tip & in so many pretty colors!) to draw the pink flamingo and think pink on clear cardstock (thicker then transparency, so it will stand up like a card should!)  Then without taking the mat out of the Cameo, I cut the clear cardstock in a scallop pattern (I did have to cut twice to get all the way through).  The top card shows the pink shadow from the front of the card that I drew on, it isn't really on the cardstock in back!  Pretty cool, a pink shadow!

I still have a sale going on in the Chomas Creations store when you enter the code toystory10 at checkout you can save 10% off your entire purchase!

And the winner of the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder, or adjustable pen holder from the Disney/Pixar blog hop is...

If you are interested in participating, you can add your card to the link below and mail them to the address here.

We have some Blog Hop CANDY for one lucky WINNER!!!

Amy Chomas (hey that is me hehe!) has graciously donated a mini gel pen set and holder as our grand prize and some of the ladies have also added to the pot (surprise package).

So if you don't know already, Kristal is one amazing woman!  Kristal, this one's for you!  You deserve it girlie!
If you have come from Brenda Creativity is only a state of mind you are in the right place!  If you just stopped by my blog to visit today and would like to attend the blog hop, click on Brenda's link and start there!

So this card is for Kristal (hey Kristal, don't look hehe!)  I used the Chomas Creations engraving tip on clear cardstock, writing, or etching the words many thanks into the clear cardstock.  It is so hard to get a good picture of these types of projects!  I used Birthday Bash for the scallop card shape and the font.  Click on the pics to see them better.  The owl is from Give a Hoot.  All the papers are Basic Grey's Green at Heart line.

This is the back of the card. With the clear cardstock I like to add a solid color that I can stamp on or write a sentiment on.  This is the K Andrew stamp from the Positive Thoughts stamps.  This is a great stamp set for when you want to send a card with good thoughts to a friend!

So as you  may have heard I have donated the grand prize for the hop!  A Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder and your choice of 10 Chomas Creations mini gel pens!

Taylor frame with Chomas Creations engraving tip

I was in desperate need of a new acrylic frame for my family room (ok, so my frame was sitting empty for like 2 months on the wall, just waiting for a new photo of my daughter, eeek!), and my daughter had finally liked a photo I took of her (not a small feat!), so it was time hehe!
People have been asking where I get this plastic, as well as the clear plastic I use for the cards, and it is from Grafix.  There are 2 different thicknesses I like to use.  You can see them both here... Grafix clear plastic  The one that is .007" thick is great for making the clear plastic cards I've done in the past.  It folds nicely if you score it first.  The one that is .020" thick is great to use in frames as I've done to layer the photos and papers on.  It is very sturdy and will not fold in half.
The Chomas Creations engraving tip gives a really cool look on both of these thicknesses of Grafix clear plastic.
For this page I used the .020" thick clear plastic with the Chomas Creations engraving tip.  I made this file in Make-the-Cut to use for the page and you can download it here... flower 12x12 page
The papers are all October Afternoon, the swirl embellish and flower are Prima.  For a better look at these (as they are hard to photograph!) just click on the image.

Don't forget there is still a sale going on in my store for 10% off your entire purchase!  Just enter the coupon code bloghop at checkout at www.amychomas.com

It's time for the Disney/Pixar Blog Hop!

There was such an awesome response the first time around for the Disney/Pixar blog hop, who wouldn't want to do another?  So here we go again!  If you have come from Marlo's Scrap N Tote's blog you are on the right track!  If you have just come to visit me for the day and would like to go on the full blog hop, start here with Shawn Crafty Chics blog

I do have a super quick favor to ask!  I'm trying to get my blog in the Top 25 mom shops!  All you have to do is click on the link on the left side of my blog and click the thumbs up by my Chomas Creation's logo.  There is no need to register and no annoying emails will be sent, and it only takes a second.  And if you want to go back every day that would be awesome to!

If you would like to see the Toy Story layout I did with the Chomas Creations mini gel pens for the first blog hop, you can view that here... First blog hop
I decided to play with some different Mickey images I found online with Make-the-Cut and make some cards this time around.  Birthday cards always come in handy to have laying around!  The first one I did I used the Chomas Creations embossing kit on Ten Seconds Studios metal sheets with this Mickey image I found.  To get this look you add the metal sheet colored side down on the embossing mat, and after embossing you sand the image to get the silver to pop through.

The 2nd card I made I used the Chomas Creations engraving tip on clear cardstock to engrave or etch the Mickey Mouse heads onto the clear cardstock. Click on the image to see it closer and better!  I also made the title with a Mickey font and layered it, then shadowed it.

The last card I made used the Chomas Creations engraving tip as well, but this time on metallic paper by Colorbok.  I picked up a 2 pack of these metallic sheets at Target for just $.99!  And it cuts great with the Cricut.

Have you heard that we lowered the prices on the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder, mini Sharpie holder, and micro Sharpie holder?
The Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder and mini Sharpie holders are now $19.49!
The Chomas Creations micro Sharpie holder is now $18.49 and we have 8 colors of micro Sharpies available for sale!
The Chomas Creations are now $5.49 for a 10 pack, or $10.49 for all 20 of the mini gel pens.

**CLOSED**  Also to celebrate the 2nd Disney/Pixar blog hop, how about a give away?  You don't have follow my blog to win, but why not??  And if you could take a minute to vote for me (again not mandatory, but why  not hehe) for the Top 25 mom shops, that would be awesome!   Leave a comment after this post on what you think of the 3 cards I made for the hop and you could win a Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder and 10 pack of assorted mini gel pens!  Only 1 entry per person, and remember I must have a way to contact you!  I will post the winner on my blog Sunday night/Monday morningish!  You will have 1 week to claim your prize or I will draw another winner.  **You may still comment on this post but it will not be put in the drawing, the drawing is now closed.

Next stop on the hop is Jenny over at  Jenny Place.  Hop on over to see what she has in store for you!
