Artist with Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder

My little artist!  Hoping one day she gets into the whole scrapbook thing!
I used 2 files for Studio, the first is artist and the 2nd is water color paint set.  I then used the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder with a .1 mm Copic Multi Liner.  These pens are made to go work with Copic markers, so no smearing.  And can I just tell you how amazed I was at just how smooth they draw with the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder in the Cameo??  AWESOME!!

I then colored in just a small portion of the things I drew with Copic markers.  For the silver I used a silver Sharpie marker.

I needed some thicker lined journaling circles, so I made some in studio.  You can download the share for these here... journaling circles thick  I again used the Copic Multi Liner in the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder to draw the lines on these.

I wanted the small splashes of color from the Copics to be the only color on this page, so I used some Basic Grey papers in shades of brown on this page.

Birthday card with Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder

One of the coolest things about the Sakura Souffle gel pens is how they look on black cardstock!  And they also look like they have a slightly raised texture.
I used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder with the pink Souffle gel pen to draw the flourish background on this card.  The design as well as the birthday sentiment are from the Silhouette Studio store.

Once again I used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder with a stylus to score this card.   You can get the tutorial and file for Studio for the card here... 5x7 card
I added some Viva Decor to make the white raised images on this card as well.

Back to school with Chomas Creations mini Sharpie holder

It is that time of year again!  Time for my favorite commercial... It's the most wonderful time of the year, they're going back... back to school!  Where the dad is dancing down the aisles... hehe  They should really use a mom in that commercial!

Being I have 4 kids that go to school each year, I get a bit behind on these back to school layouts!  So this is from last year, my daughter on her way to kindergarten.  You can get the Design Studio file for this page here... back to school
I used the Chomas Creations mini Sharpie holder to do the border and accents on this page on cork board.  Yes corkboard!!  There are so many surfaces out there that the mini Sharpies will write on that normal markers just can't handle!  This corkboard is by Quickutz.  They are 4x12 self adhesive sheets.
I used the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder to make my own lined paper!  I used the file here for the horizontal lines, that I usually use for my journaling circles....  journaling circles  I drew all the lines in the Chomas Creations light blue glitter mini gel pen.
The back to school file has the vertical lines, I used the Chomas Creations red glitter mini gel pen for these.
This also made for some easy journaling on the page!
I designed the title with a shadow and cut it out of red and green paper.  The title is also on the back to school download.
Here is the completed layout!  The ribbon is Imaginesce.  And of course the patterned paper was made by me hehe!

Berry Sweet card scoring with Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder

One of my favorite parts of the end of June and beginning of July is Michigan strawberries!  And the best part is my mother in law has a TON in her garden!  So that marks the season of fresh strawberries, strawberry shortcake, strawberry pie, and a lot of strawberries left to freeze for fruit smoothies!  I saw this berry sweet file and knew this would be the perfect thank you card for the mother in law!
Did you know you can use the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder with the stylus to score cards???  Why yes you can!  This is a super easy way to make sure your cards line up and easy to do!  You do NOT need the embossing mat for scoring cards, just the stylus.  Add the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder in place of your blade, add the stylus, set the height with the popcycle stick, and set your pressure to 33 (thicker cardstocks may need a double cut).  You can download the file for the 5x7 card here... Studio 5x7 card

All parts of files are set up to cut when you send them to the Silhouette Cameo.  But I don't want to cut the middle score line for the card, I want to score it.  So first I click on the cut style icon on the top menu of Studio (1) to get my options, which are located at the right side of Studio.  I need to turn off the large rectangle that will be my card, so I click on that, then click on no cut (2).
Now add the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder with the stylus to the Silhouette Cameo and use double cut with the pressure all the way at 33.
Next we want to cut the card out.  To do this we need to switch our options in cut style.  This time we select the line we scored and select the no cut option.  Now select the large rectangle for the card and select cut.  Without removing your mat from the Silhouette, carefully switch out the stylus for the blade.  Now cut the rectangle.
You will have a scored line right down the middle of your card!  Fold it in half and use a bone folder to smooth out the edge!

I used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder for the Silhouette Cameo with the green metallic mini gel pen to draw the berry sweet sentiment, which was a download from Silhouette Studio.  I then colored it in with the Copic markers.  While the mini gel pen didn't bleed, I think I used the wrong paper for this one as the Copics did bleed a bit!  Whooops!
The paper is Imaginesce.  The ribbon is little Yellow bicycle.

Bucket filler with Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder

One of the cute little lessons at my daughter's school was being a bucket filler (someone who is kind to others, helpful to others and makes the right choices) as opposed to a bucket dipper.  So I used the Cricut with some heat transfer vinyl to make her this cute little shirt!  Then I used the same Design Studio file to make this scrapbook page for her!  I used the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder for the Cricut with a black metallic mini gel pen to draw the title and then colored it in with Copic markers.  I used my pressure on medium.  You can get this file for DS here... bucket filler
I did my journaling on one of my journaling circles I keep on hand made with the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder for the Cricut!  You can get more details and the file for that download right here...  journaling circles
I then added some of the Silhouette fuzzy vinyl that I sprayed with Shimmer Mist in blue to the page, some ribbon, and a vinyl sunshine along with my little bucket filler picture!

Welcome little one with Chomas Creations embossing kit

Lucky me, just over 2 weeks ago I got a new nephew!  This is Drew!  Of course I can't resist a cute boy layout, or cute baby Drew!  I actually used this welcome little one file before to make a page for my boy, and I was looking through old files and wanted to use it again!  You can get the file and see the other page here... welcome little one
I used the Chomas Creations embossing/scoring kit to emboss the little circles on the vellum as my background.  I did use a multi-cut of 2 to get them to really stand out.

I used the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder with a glitter silver mini gel pen to draw the title, then without removing my mat from the Cricut machine, I took out the mini gel pen holder, replaced the blade, and cut the shadow around the shapes.

I also used the Chomas Creations  mini gel pen holder to draw the journaling circles.  You can get a tutorial and the download for the design here... journaling circles

I added my super cute pictures of Drew, some ribbon and buttons to the page to finish it.

And did I mention that you can get the Chomas Creations mini gel pen holder and embossing kit at lower prices in the Chomas Creations store
And that I now have a way to sign up to email alerts to you when ever I post something new on this blog?  It is on the right----->

Lovable layout with Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder

Every once in awhile I can't help but to go through old pictures and thinking back...  I found these of my youngest son, look at those chubby cheeks, and that smile that lights up his eyes!  I couldn't resist printing them off and scrappin them!
Don't forget, tomorrow is the Love my Cameo blog hop!  Stop on by Saturday February 11th at 8 am eastern (or any time this weekend) to see lots of amazing projects with the Cameo!

I used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder for the Silhouette Cameo with a Chomas Creations glitter pink mini gel pen to draw the heart background on this page that I made in Designer's Edition.  You can download the file background here.... heart background

I also used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder to draw these journaling circles.  You can download the file to those here... journaling circles
I cut the title from fuzzy vinyl with the Cameo, which I downloaded in Studio and is called lovable, huggable, squeezable.
And here is the page with my little cutie!  I also added some XOXO ribbon from Carolee's Adornit.

Happy Birthday card with Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder

Another birthday party, another birthday card to bring!  I recently purchased Silhouette's Designer Edition (like Studio with more goodies to try out!) and was playing around with some of the sketch options in it.  One of the things you could do was fill your letters with this cross hatch pattern.  So while this was simple to do in DE, I'm still going to share it for those of you without it!  You can download the happy birthday design here... happy birthday
Just like yesterday's card, I have a lot of pre-cut 4x5.5 kraft cards I need to use up from the holidays, so I used the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder with the black metallic Chomas Creations gel pen from the assorted pack of gel pens to draw the sentiment right on the card.  Then I just added a chipboard sticker.  Super easy!

Happy Birthday sketch card with Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder

I wanted to have some creative fun with my feet up, so I pulled out the good ole' Wacom tablet and started drawing in MTC (Make-the-Cut).  I found you can draw a lot smoother in MTC then you can in Silhouette Studio.  You can change around the smoothing and precision for drawing in MTC as well, which helped a lot with my flower sketch, which you can download for MTC here... flower sketch
To make card making easier this year, I invested in a 50 pack of 4x5.5 inch cards with envelopes in kraft color.  I added this to my mat and drew right on it.

I used layers in MTC as well, so that I could draw in different colors of Sharpie glitter paint markers using the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder.  To do this, it is as simple as turning off layers (clicking on the eye to turn off a layer).  As you can see I turned off the grass and flower stems and then drew the petals and happy birthday sentiment first.
Then insert the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder into the Cameo & add the Sharpie paint marker into the holder.  Draw your images on a pressure of 8, and speed of 5.  Do not remove your mat from the machine.
Now swith the layers that are on and off, so that the grass and stems are now showing.  Replace your Sharpie paint marker in the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder (you do not need to take the holder out of the machine) with a green marker.  Now draw these images.
This is a pretty simple card.  I did add some Viva Decor glitter glue to the center of my flowers.

Celebrate birthday card with Chomas Creations engraving tip

There are lots of birthdays coming up in January, so I will have to make a lot of cards!  I doubled up on this design, so this is a 2 for 1!  You can download the Design Studio file for this card using George and Birthday Bash here... celebrate card
Don't forget to use the coupon code january10 to save 10% off your entire order in the Chomas Creations store.
I used the Chomas Creations engraving tip to etch the cupcake design into Core'dinations cardstock.  I use a multi-cut of 2 for this to really dig into that paper!  This is the engrave page in the DS file, then I replaced the blade in place of the engraving tip to cut the cut around the cupcakes using the engrave cut page in the DS file.

I also used the Chomas Creations engraving tip to score the card.  I set my pressure to high, and then scrored the emboss page of the DS file.  I then replaced the blade in place of the engraving tool and cut the card shape with the card cut page of the DS file.

Next I cut the celebrate page of the DS file and added them to my cards, and added Stickles over all of the sprinkles on the cupcakes.

These are a few of my favorite fonts...

Well it is time I put together a list of my favorite fonts for journaling!  These are the fonts that are thinner lined, so they won't look like they have that double lined look.  Click on the fonts to be taken to the site that you can download these at.  Keep in mind, these are double lined fonts, so the larger you make them, the more you will be able to tell.
Fire fly castle
Altera
Dirty Little Secrets
Simply Glamorous
Play Date
Elegant Light
English Essay
Every time I miss you
Cursive Standard
Honey Bunches
Thinking of you
Sweetie Pie
Dreamed About You
Now some of those above come from Kevin and Amanda fonts.  I love love love her fonts!  There are a bunch here that are perfect for journaling.... Fonts for Peas
Kay at Clever Someday also has a list she put together of some of her favorite fonts as well. Scroll down to find the gel pen fonts which are best for journaling here... Clever Someday

Of course there are many, many more!! These are just what I have that I know have worked for me so far!
So here is a page I did with the first font on my list, Fire Fly Castle.  I used the font to journal around the page then used the Chomas Creations adjustable marker holder with the white Signo Uni ball gel pen. Notice how when I made the font bigger on the bottom, you can see the double lines.  I simply grabbed my white gel pen and colored in the  middle, as you can see on the letters "HAP"  in the picture below.  It didn't take long at all to finish this!
The Studio file for this page is available for download here... happy birthday  Here is a close up of the font in a smaller size, where you can't tell that it is double lined because of how close the lines are together.
My journaling was done on one of the journaling boxes I made with the Chomas Creations holders awhile back with the red glitter Chomas Creations gel pen.  I trimmed the gift off the end so it would fit.  You can find the dashed line file here... journaling box
Here is the finished page.  These are some old Basic Grey papers, and stickers I had so I used a bunch of scraps on this!  Nice to use up some of that stash!
