Happy 10 year anniversary to Chomas Creations!!!

Guess who is celebrating 10 years of being in business???
That would be me and Chomas Creations!  I had no idea when I sold my first part (actually it ended up being 80 when I said I would make an extra for some one that asked) that I would still be in business 10 years later with this little venture!
Some things have changed a lot over the years!  This is me and my kids 10 years ago, imagine how tough it was working at all with that crew, but I did manage somehow (I just didn't get to sleep much hehe).  My 2 oldest helped pack parts with me at the time.  Ages 15, 11, 5 and 3 (notice my age isn't listed hehe)
This is all of us now, and they are a lot more helpful and my oldest and now 2 youngest still help pack parts!  One of my boys is off at college majoring in psychology!  My oldest daughter has her bachelors in business management.  Ages 25, 21, 15 and 13

That's not the only thing that has changed!  Here are the original mini gel pen and mini Sharpie marker holders that fit in the original Cricut from 10 years ago!
We all know those have changed and now I offer engravers and a precision engraver as well!  And they work in so many more machines!  Even the original Cricut :)
Now let's go into what hasn't changed in the last 10 years!
All of the Chomas Creations tools are made in the USA!  That will never change.  They are also manufactured by local small businesses.
Chomas Creations is still a family business.  I would love to keep it going and have my children running it one day, that is a huge dream of mine.
Customer service is very important to me and I work my hardest to make things right if you are having any issues.
I still love doing what I do and plan on getting into my craft room more and picking up where I left off.
To celebrate Chomas Creations turning 10 I'm going to offer my biggest sale yet!
How about a coupon code for 15% off your purchase of $44 or more :)  You can use the coupon code at checkout in my store www.amychomas.com
This coupon is good until October 11th, feel free to share with a friend!

Silhouette Cameo 4 users here is some great news!

If you are in the market for a Silhouette Cameo 4 and wondering if your Chomas Creations tools will work with the machine there is great news!  The Cameo 4 comes with an adaptor to fit your engraver and precision tip.  It will not fit the adjustable pen holder though.  More to come when I get my hands on the machine.
Thanks Melissa from Silhouette School for this great blog post...

Troubleshooting: Maker engraver & precision tip not detected

I have been getting a lot of questions lately about the tools not being detected.
It is always on the right side in place of the blade as shown in the picture. Make sure you set your project to cut. You do NOT set your project to score or engrave as this will not work. When you send your project to be engraved make sure that you choose a fine point blade item for your project. I use the cardstock setting and I change the pressure that and use a mulitcut if necessary.
Notice it says no tool is required in clamp A. If it is saying you need a tool in clamp A you need to change to a different setting. If it is saying it can not detect the tool in slot B you need to change to a different material.
The Chomas Creations engraver and precision tip will work in the Maker with the proper settings chosen.

All Explore engravers and precision tips go on the right side in place of the blade.

Chomas Creations is switching it up a bit with the Engraver and Precision tip for the Explore. It now goes on the right hand side of the machine and you need to set your machine to the cut function. These engraving tips & precision tips will also work in the Maker.
The Precision tip comes to a bit of a finer point then the Engraving tip and can be used for even finer details.
You can find the Chomas Creations Precision tip and Engraving tip for the Explore all here... Precision tip & Engraving tip
These will work in the entire Explore line. That includes the Explore Air 2 and even the Explore One.
