Prepared to be WOWED with Maria's ideas with the Chomas Creations engraving tip!

Because I sure am!  Maria from... Believe Dream Create has been playing with the Chomas Creations engraving tip and this is 1 of the 3 things she has done so far with it!
The engraving tip is available for pre-order for $25 and will ship the week before Christmas.  The cost of the holder will go up after pre-order.  You can view the differences between the engraving tip and embossing tip here... Difference between engraving tip and embossing tip
Maria's other projects will go up this week and next on my blog, so you better stop on by!  I couldn't pick a favorite, they are all that AWESOME!  She even gave some saweeet directions that she is letting me share with you!  So here goes (these are Maria's words!)...
In my search through the Craft Store (aka—JoAnn’s) looking for stuff to engrave I found mirror sheets by Darice. There is one sheet per package for a pretty reasonable price. I thought, what the heck! It worked!! This was the easiest project you could possibly think of. My mind is going crazy with all the possibilities with this material and the Engraving Tip.

The mirror has a paper type backing on the back so I just placed it right down on the Cricut mat with no extra adhesive needed. The mirror is not a plastic cheap type of mirror. It is an actual mirror. It comes with a thin covering on it that you have to peel off. Please excuse the dust particles and the smudges in the left hand corner of the frame….I was having a total static problem, LOL!

So, the hard part—no not the Engraving Tip—that is SUPER easy! Getting a good picture when it is a mirror—that is the hard part! (Amy here: I hear you on this one Maria!!! lol)  I made the file in my Gypsy. I knew I had a 5” x 7” frame so I made a 5” x 7” rectangle around my design. That will help me out later. I did not do multi-cut with this. One time through gave me beautiful results!

Remember the 5” x 7” line I made? Well I just used a ruler and knife to cut it into a perfect rectangle to fit on my frame. I didn’t put the mirror inside the frame, but rather adhered it right to the front of the glass of the frame. Once again, very hard to get a good picture with my reflection in it…..

This is probably the best picture I could get. The frame is absolutely beautiful. Pictures just do not do it justice. This would be an incredible present to give someone for the Holiday’s.

Total for the project: under $10.

Amy here: If you want to tell Maria how awesome this is, please head to her blog... Believe Dream Create   And she is going to be doing more in the coming up week that I will be sharing!  Stay tuned, this is edge of your seat entertainment!!!  hehe
